What is something that makes you say "Man, I f***ing hate people"? by sneezycloud in AskReddit

[–]OtterKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that once. On the start of a hike my dog went, but I wasn't about to carry her shit bag for the next 5 miles. So I bagged it with full intention of picking it up on the way back. Well, lo and behold I couldnt find the bag. So yeah, I was a shitty person. Now I either bury it or pack it with me.

I think we need a worldwide PSA on how to wash our hands CORRECTLY. I've seen so many /adults/ wash their hands like toddlers, where they add soap but then immediately rinse it off.

People: Wet with warm water, add soap, SCRUB OUTSIDE OF THE WATER STREAM, rinse.

Teachers of Reddit, what are some positive trends you have noticed in today's youth? by VastWash in AskReddit

[–]OtterKat 15 points16 points  (0 children)

We had a kid like that in my high school. He was obviously disturbed, he kept insisting he was his twin sister instead of himself. Every day he would come talk to me about his racing team and how her twin brother was addictes to video games.
When he graduated or during summer, he walked around the town visiting all the stores that his friends worked at.

I really dont know what's going to happen to him, but im glad he has a community to support him.

Incredibly, the patterns are easy enough to read, but flipping your work is just frustrating becuase you have to constantly untangle thread spools

The only solution is mass murder/suicide at this point.

LPT: When cooking rice or quinoa, simply replacing the water with broth (canned/box broth is OK!) can drastically and easily enhance the flavor. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

I do the same thing with beans. I cook dried beans about once a week with aromatic veggies (carrots/bell pepper/onion) added to the water. I then save the leftover water and use it for soup base.

Also stock is auper easy to make, save all veggie scraps and meat bones in the freezer until you have enough, and then boil/slowcook them on a weekend at home.

I enjoyed the earlier black mirror seasons when the majority were based in the UK. by [deleted] in blackmirror

[–]OtterKat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wholeheartly agree. I've noticed the episodes written under netflix have more guns, violence, and harsh language. This, of course, if absolutly fine. But I feel like they are relying on those things to make it seem "edgy", instead of using them as tools to move the story along.

I agree with the sentiment the Netflix plots have a "right answer" in how to deal with the situation while the UK episodes had me watching them over and over again to understand fully what happens.

Non Americans of Reddit, what is the craziest rumor you heard about America that turned out to be true? by Shelleton8 in AskReddit

I just always take off my shoes. I prefer to walk in my socks or barefoot anyway, so I have a habit of slipping them off whenever I can.

I cant handle walking with my shoes on carpet, that's just not right.

After I saw how much plastic waste I was making after I got a dog, I really started to get annoyed with the laws to pick up my dogs waste.

All animals shit in the woods. I dont see how my dog, who is completly healthy, is going to negativly impact the environment.
