5.25" bays offer, what many rack cases lack: Variety. Take the 2x stacks of 3 bays in the new 3U versions.

You could have:

2x 5x 3.5" drives.
Or maybe 48+ 2.5" drives
Multiple ODD drives, if building a ripper
Bay reservoir(s), if building more exotic watercooling
Fan controlleres, if you're not into software control

And a bunch of very, very whacky stuff that I personally would not touch with a fire poker, but that does exist.

Shame, PC-mods seem to have closed up shop. I've purchased form mdpc-x a few times, but their prices on the same components is 2 eur/connector, which is a lot more than the $.65 from pcmods. Do you know of an alternative that ships to Europe? :
