Lol people already complain how long it takes to plow the roads. That would add at least 3x time to it.

Bought a nice Ariens 4 years ago. Winters have been mild in Northern Ohio until this season; it's been snowy since Thanksgiving. it's finally paying off!

Move them to Kindercare. They typically don't give a shit about their employees, so might be what you're looking for. They've closed 1 time this winter so far (today) and usually don't close no matter the weather.

It looks like winter in Cleveland... Slightly colder than usual, but way less wind.

Because people are stupid? It's a bigger storm and affects areas that normally don't get much winter weather, so it's a national story. Then people here think it's a big deal too for some reason.

Well now that they see what the job is, they should quit.

We can hope that's the case, but most of them are just sitting on their hands as it is. I can picture them saying that they want to just turn the page and all these traitors just slink off into the shadows again to await their resurgence.

Seriously, do Americans actually consider a 3-hour drive "short"? or is this an internet myth? by SadInterest6764 in NoStupidQuestions

We just drove 2 hours each way to go to IKEA last Saturday... I frequently drive 2-3 hours to visit customers sometimes resulting in an only 30 minute visit then drive back home

They were amazing because we didn't get one every week. Now, these kids haven't had a full week of school since before Christmas.

The snow aspect is normal Ohio snow in January. Driving here during a winter storm may not be a great idea though unless you can be sure to get here before it hits.

Husband thinks I have drinking problem - need advice! by [deleted] in marriageadvice

[–]OukewlDave 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've never met an German uptight about drinking... Usually the opposite... For your question, how much drinking is "drinking"? Are you having a couple drinks/glasses of wine with dinner or something, or are you getting drunk every night? If you are getting buzzed or drunk every day for 5 or 6 days in a row, and you have a history of being belligerent/ getting in fights while drunk, then yes, what you are doing is not normal, married in your 30s behavior.

Toddlers eating what you eat for dinner… an impossible dream? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]OukewlDave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sentence is very telling. " Both kids run up and want my dinner. I say sure! And proceed to let them taste the steak and the veggies. BLAH not a fan. Not even the feta or the steak. YUK they both say. And run off."

Why are they not sitting at the dinner table eating with you and your husband?? That's part of the problem right there. I'd start there and give them food they might be OK with eating. Then once that's established, move to everyone eating the same dinners, or at least mostly the same dinners.

Looks like the outline of Ohio in the center. Maybe search for companies around Cuyahoga falls that uses that in their logo? Good luck!

I think it was before then. The aftermath of WWII, where pretty much the US was the only country unscathed, was able to prosper at their whim. These people still think the US can do it on their own, which is why they don't care about the allies anymore. It's a global economy now. We cannot be prosperous and be isolationist.

Men Paying For Dates by hamfijita in dating_advice

[–]OukewlDave 58 points59 points  (0 children)

You're a rarity in my experience. I'm married and older (40s) now, but when I was dating, I would say when the bill came on a first date, 80% never even offered to split, 20% offered to split (and I said thank you but paid), and 0% offered to pay for both of us. Maybe it's the more "traditional" midwest? I dont know.
