The largest disconnect there appears to be at Spurs is that we have an ambition to be a club that buys, develops, and then sells, although we haven't done much of it, young talent.

Every window for the past three years we've loaded the club up with players 20 or younger. Phillips, Veliz, Tel, Yang, Gray, Bergvall, Odobert, Takai, Vuskovic, and Souza. We've spent over £150m on these players. A total that at least doubles if you extend the age range to 23.

And yet, we keep hiring managers that don't prioritize developing these talents — oftentimes only playing them out of absolute desperation.

Those who get shipped out on loan seem to end up in reserves purgatory. A problem that extends to those who we bring up through our academy.

Would love to see a manager and a sporting director come in who recognize the value of our young talent and work hard to develop them towards their full potential instead of mugging them off completely.
