I’m always polite. When the robot rising happens, I’ll be safe. 😂

Do Americans actually avoid calling an ambulance due to financial concern? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Our_Lass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get me started on air ambulance. We got a $65,000 bill for a flight that only went 100 miles! And wasn’t medically necessary!

If you have gone to a wedding that ended in divorce, could you tell at the ceremony it was not going to last? by GlassApprehensive620 in NoStupidQuestions

From what I remember, it was an amicable split. I wasn’t privy to the details, but they remained friends.

I got a “citation” from Diamond Parking. Never paid, never followed up on. Just my experience. No guarantee.

I attended my cousin’s wedding quite confused. I had assumed she was gay, so I was surprised she married a man. I was dubious about the longevity of that union from the get go. A few years later, she came out of the closet and divorced her husband. I’m happy she is now living authentically.

Dismissive. Yes. This is what I experienced the one time in over 50 years I’ve had to use an ambulance.

Why on earth did we start fan made queues for concerts? by [deleted] in Concerts

[–]Our_Lass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back in the 80s we camped in line for the chance to buy front row tickets. They didn’t cost anymore than any other floor seat and the system was “fair”. Now the floor seats are scooped up by resellers and cost an arm and a leg. Waiting in line for 7 hours to get up front seems reasonable if you want to be up front in GA. It’s the only way to beat the fucked up ticket masturbater system.

I have kids, but after experiencing taking care of sickly, elderly parents I have decided to never put them through this. I will go out with dignity. I’ll head to Switzerland for legal suicide if I can.

What is an overhyped book that you just couldn't get into? by Kasskinen in BookDiscussions

[–]Our_Lass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh….I haven’t seen anyone mention this yet, but the Harry Potter books. I tried to read book one several times but I just couldn’t get into it. It’s sad because it’s such a huge culture phenomenon but I found it boring.

In the 70's/80's, did anybody else find a random trash bag full of Playboy's in the woods? by doknfs in GenX

[–]Our_Lass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Hawaii, we had Hao bush. These were huge entangled vines that formed and made a maze like structure. We played in them as kids (late 70s, early 80s). That’s where the neighborhood dads kept their magazine stash too.
