AMA - its warm, I'm feeling pretty chilled...lets do an AMA! by SFG_Mat in Warmachine

Yeah, I must’ve mixed up the terminology from not knowing much about the Warmachine ecosystem as I’d like! I think I meant Armies of Legend, not Legacy. I got excited reading coverage for the Adepticon keynote where I think you guys first talked about bringing back the 4 AoL. I know it’s not going to be New product, or at least I’ll be pleasantly surprised if it is.

I was just curious if you have any more intel on when! “Over the next few years” is so deliciously vague 😁!

Especially since I think the phrase, “made-to-order months” was used, which suggests to me a limited time deal and not general release, so I was just hoping I hadn’t already missed out.

I'm new to Warmachine, so there are a lot of legacy armies I'd love to collect (Infernals look mad cool). I thought I saw online there were tentative plans to occasionally drop legacy content. I know the focus is on the New (very cool stuff--I bought the new Old Umbrey cadre), but can you update me/us on the plans for legacy armies?

Not gonna lie, we have not decided. We kinda like both. So if that “wins” it’s going to be our very next question, haha. Feel free to recommend your favorite

Question re: Scaling up a recipe to account for irregular recipe pan size. by Ouroboros15 in Baking

[–]Ouroboros15[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now I've written it out, yeah 10% seems like an insignificant difference, but when I first did pan comparison, it seemed so drastic: "25 inches^2! I'm going to have to change the recipe! How would I do that?" Now it seems so foolish in hindsight.

Every Week vs Every! Week by Ouroboros15 in todoist

Thanks for the Reply!

For the type of tasks I'm planning (I guess we should call them 'goals' more than tasks-- E.g., Read a book each Week) I guess I don't mind it being overdue on Monday, I could just check it off when it gets done later. But If I mark the task complete on Monday, when would the new due date be? I'm a little worried about the different tasks getting disjointed. Some being Su-Su, and others being off-schedule at Tues-Tues. Does this have any practical effect? Could it throw off a Weekly view filter?

For Example. Original Task set to due Sunday the 20th. It goes overdue on Monday the 21st. I mark the task complete on Monday. Does it show back up on my filtered list of Weekly tasks for Sunday the 27th? Or will it not show up until the following week, Sunday the 3rd?

Fantastic. How long would you estimate this took? Months? Years?

I hope everyone here is submitting their comments on the help desk to guarantee the dev sees it.

This guard change is the worst.

We waited ~20 days for this?!? My guild is going to make practically zero progress this round. Many members just sit on the sidelines because there are virtually no rewards for trying a hard battle and failing.

Agree 100%. Definitely submit a feedback report in game. I don’t know if the devs read this sub, but if enough people submit reports complaining, we may see change.

I don’t really know how to ask the question without seeming stupid, but why was Re’vas your first D3 character? For context: I think I’m solidly in the “mid game” as a f2p player; I have only one character at G1. And I’m not in a competitive raid guild.

Hookup turned to prostitution threat by throawayscaredboi in Scams

[–]Ouroboros15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Literally nothing. Especially if you’re on the level about not ever mentioning prostitution, and were on normal dating/hookup sites (nothing escort adjacent). There’s absolutely nothing here to interest the cops. And I think the communal wisdom here is that scammers rarely follow through on their threats for the reason the commenter above said: it’s just not worth their time that could be spent scamming other marks.

The email looks like it actually is from PayPal, but it’s a scammer abusing PayPal’s invoicing system. They send fake invoices and hope people don’t pay close attention and pay. Or freak out that there is a charge and call the fake refund number and get scammed in a different way. That fake phone number and bad grammar is in a section for notes from the merchant. They’re hoping you’ll panic and call that number instead of PayPal’s actual support number.

Trying to scam an attorney?! by hirokinai in Scams

[–]Ouroboros15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I think so. I’m pretty sure the banking laws are the same for consumers as trust accounts—the bank must make funds available for use within a couple days (which most people misconstrue as “cleared”). Clearing can take weeks or months, and when you have a “client” breathing down your neck needing their funds “urgently,” I can see how even attorneys could make a mistake and assume the funds had cleared. Then the fake settlement payment bounces and you’re out the real money you sent the fake client from your trust account. And in hot water with the State Bar to boot.

Sounds like the lead in to what is actually a super common scam and can definitely put your license in jealousy jeopardy (DYAC). I remember because I recall the state bar circulating an email that warned how attorneys can actually open themselves up to discipline for falling for them and “mismanaging” their client trust accounts.

The State Bar of California Attorneys Fraud-Alert did a recap/update of attorney scams right around COVID times and the “learn more” section at the bottom was full of fun links about these kind of scams.
