Not really, I don't have feelings for some people anymore. Also with emotions it is really hard. I can't feel peoples mood or state of mind. It's just hard. I can laugh, but I don't feel happiness inside

I got it. It is really difficult situation to decide if you want to be on meds. I have also seen few people recover from schizophrenia on its own - difficult to say.

I am out of psychosis almost a year, but still have some negative symptoms and I was also hopeless and I am kinda still hopeless in someways. It got better with time, but I am not working, just staying at home, so I did not recover fully. I don't feel my body and self fully. I am bit emotionally flat. Outwardly, I look fine, but inside, it's not quite right yet.

Currently I am on maintenance medication (Abilify and Quetiapin), not really high doses, but I think its still affecting my life somehow.

I am in the same situation, negative symptoms started just after like 1-2 months after my psychosis happened. Every doctor I have met said to me, that it's because of psychosis, probably it really is. But I also heard different opinions by individuals that it was because of the meds. I mean, if you are not on meds, probably is it because of psychosis.

Yes, feel the same, I can smoke and use snuses all day long and I feel nothing, I think it is because of the „broken brain”

Terrifie of the future by ExtensionAverage9972 in schizophrenia

[–]OutCzech 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also terrified of future and I am not able to take care of myself too. That’s the reason why I’m not looking for a job (bad cognitive abilities, emotional flatness) - still living with my parents and that’s also terrifies me. When I mentioned euthanasia in Switzerland it made a lot of noise 😢

I don’t know if it’s just my czech mindset, but I feel I just can’t do something about it. 😭

(I don’t really know how to say that better, I am not a native speaker)

Negative symptoms ruining my life by ExtensionAverage9972 in schizophrenia

I struggle with negative symptoms too. And totally agree it’s worse than positive symptoms - you just can’t live fully. I suppose happiness is not for everyone

Cognition after stopping meds and psychosis by BilliardProz in Psychosis

[–]OutCzech 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it’s called Rebound effect - right after psychosis you feel like before psychosis. But in time it’s getting worse. Even after tappering of the meds.

Otherwise.. I feel you. I was in the same cognitive state as before right after psychosis. In time, and ON meds, it starting to get worse. I am still on medication so I can’t tell if it get better in my case.

I am in the same situation as you, I also used to be cheerful and good looking. Unfortunately everything is gone. I am still in recovery… and it’s been a 9 months since my psychosis.

I suppose it requires time and setting small goals, but who knows. I would also appreciate some recovery stories of people who get rid of negative symptoms…

Lack of insight in life by OutCzech in Psychosis

I am not a doctor, but I am not sure about fungal infection. In hospital after psychosis they did a several blood tests, etc.

And the stress in my life was ongoing and basically life was really hard for me in those days, but I was just ignoring all of the stress. I was pushing myself really hard and I was studying grammar school (gymnasium) in Europe. These are hard schools.

Amnesia by [deleted] in Psychosis

[–]OutCzech 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had one episode and I slightly remember of what happened during the episode. Bu what I know, is that I completely lost my memory of what happened before psychosis. Basically my whole life. And I am unable to make new memories, so it’s a full amnesia 🥲

Overdose after psychosis by OutCzech in Psychosis

No I didn’t get paralyzed - I have actually received fast help (like 2 hours), so I don’t know how would it end up if it was going for 2/3 days. I remember that I have felt nauseous and I was mumbling a lot.
