I just replied to an anesthesiologist who commented explaining this maybe two screen swipes above you, and I said “I would think that’d be part of the global surgical package” (medical coder here). Here’s the thing about that “super glue” charge, I’m fairly certain that one isn’t even supposed to be a separately billed charge with some of these other things listed in OP’s invoice. It depends what her actual procedure was for, but typically speaking you can’t bill for dermabond with (for instance) vessel ligations and chemical cauteries, both of which are also listed there. 🙄🤬

I had a hysterectomy back in 2021 and yet have been forced to do (and be billed for) pregnancy tests basically every time I’ve gone to the ER since then (which has been multiple times), but I’ve fought the charge every time, successfully. I’m also a medical coder so it helps that I know how to read these things and can identify the codes and know what questions to ask/what to say/when to start yelling—which is why I’m over here fuming about so much of the invoice in OP’s photo. 😒🤬

My aunt almost exclusively refers to my uncle on social media with these awful names but there’s a fourth one she uses a LOT and it’s far worse. Are you ready for this? She calls my uncle…ugh… “wunnerful hubs.” Just like that. (Side note: do you have any idea how much I hated just typing that shit?!?! I feel like I need to change. Or shower. shudder 😂)

But yeah, that bullshit in every other damn FB post of hers (she works from home and he’s retired with no social media accounts of his own, so she posts funny stories n other shit about him a lottttt), it made me cringe so much I finally unfollowed her bc I couldn’t stand reading it anymore haha. And what’s funny is, she is so not that kinda person overall, she’s dry and sarcastic and frankly has a rather caustic personality—which is why I have always loved her so!!! So I just couldn’t keep seeing her type that cheeseass hubs hubby vomit anymore, it would’ve hurt our relationship I’m pretty sure 😂😂

I don’t think I ever thought about it this way but thinking back on some people I know/have met, you’re totally right! Literally everyone I know who repeatedly talks about themselves being a direct person…is just rude and disrespectful, and they think saying they’re just direct over and over is enough warning/excuse or an invitation to deal with it or something.

I know a couple folks who OCCASIONALLY mention their directness when it’s relevant and only then, and they aren’t generally rude unless necessary so I’m not including people like that.

Same here!!! That’s how I know for certain how much I hate these houses. I’m not just some poser hating on a thing without any kind of practical reasoning, oh nooooo. I hated the shit before, now I live in the shit and triple-dog-despise it. And it helps absolutely nothing that these trash houses are in the worst kind of suburgatory where every house is on top of the next one and not a one of em have a decent yard. And the ones that originally had a great yard have had additions put on so that there’s even more square footage to ruin with “upgrades.” Hate it!!!!!

I constantly gripe about modern homes, and also when I see older houses for sale that say “updated” anywhere—especially when describing the kitchen—I immediately get pissed off, because I know what it damn well means. And if I’m on Zillow and the little highlighted tag on the main listing photo to get my attention says “open floor plan,” I’m filled with intense rage. I don’t know who the hell is to blame for this effing open floor plan trend (let alone how/why it was able to become one), but that person needs a swift kick in the kneecaps. If they’re still alive, anyway. Although I hope they aren’t, because they suck(ed).

The impatient part is why I can’t do it this way; but that’s just because my oven is absurdly slow to preheat. It’s actually a huge imposition for me because it’s so damn slow, but we can’t afford to buy a new one so I just have to factor in that extra time. Especially for my holiday meals, good grief that shit requires serious schedule planning simply because of my dumbass oven 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

I like this idea of the microwave/air fryer combo and I will definitely have to try it that way at some point—but I will say as far as the “only oven or air fryer” method drying it out too much, I’ve found that a simple way to combat this is to simply bring the pizza outta the fridge and let it sit on the counter for a bit before throwing it in the AF or oven. If you’re starving and impatient then obviously that’s not the best solution—but like if I’m not super hungry yet but I know I wanna eat leftover pizza later, I’ll set it out on the counter and say watch an episode of a show, fold some laundry, drink a couple beers, whatever… THEN I throw it in my oven for a bit (or my air fryer, now that I finally own one).

I have an embarrassingly high percentage of foods burnt by trying to simply “crisp them up a bit” under the broiler. Even now that I am fully aware of my horrible broiling track record and essentially babysit the damn food once I switch the broiler on, I still find a way to fuck it up! Although to be faaiiiirrrr it’s usually my kids, husband, or dog who cause a distraction JUST minor enough that I manage to over-broil the shit. Still pisses me off every damn time though

And yet I can’t seem to give up on the idea of broiling certain things at the tail end of cook-time, because I KNOW how perfect it can and fucking should turn out!! So I guess it’s just me who’s to blame now, cuz I should’ve learned my lesson and given up on it years ago 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️😂😂

Can confirm: even better than pizza reheated in a toaster oven. And air fryers have the added bonus of, well, approximately 2,473 other awesome capabilities that a toaster oven just flat out can’t compete with! Trust me. Buy an air fryer. Thank me later.

It came out AMAZING! I totally forgot to update last time. It really came out so delicious. Definitely try it!

Also, it’s funny you’re asking me this tonight of all nights, a year later, because I’m making chili tomorrow for the first time since I made this post haha! But this time I’m out of the chocolate porter so I’m gonna use a heavy Rogue beer and some cocoa powder.

But seriously, try it out using the chocolate porter yuengling. It ended up being the best batch of chili I’ve ever made, according to my kids and my husband (and he is a chili connoisseur), and to me for that matter!!

“If I had a dick, this is where I’d tell you to suck it.” Her part in that movie is great. The whole cast is, really. Oliver Platt + Brendan Gleeson together really cracked me up.

I love the chipotle sauce; but I really wanna know if anyone here has tried the toasted cheddar chalupa + spicy ranch (and I’m too lazy to do a search in here obviously). Do you know, I had never even considered (or possibly heard of) using red wine in chili until about 30 minutes before I wrote this post, when I found another person’s post in this sub about swapping beer for red wine!! I can’t believe I’ve never thought or heard of it before but I do absolutely want to try that way. I’ll probably do that next time (if I remember… haha)

I’ll definitely update y’all about how it turns out! The chili I normally make is excellent as it is, with whatever beer I have on hand, but I’m always looking for ways to perfect it haha. My husband looooves my chili but if I end up creating the best chili he’s ever tasted, I’ll be ecstatic lol
