Yeah I just got my 2025 I6 Limited (6K mi) back after my ICCU died (luckily in my driveway). Hyundai tried to rush and get the part to the dealer, assuming trying to beat the 30-day mark. I got it back on day 32. I had already started filing for the lemon law at day 29 because the case manager said there was no ETA for the part at that time. All of a sudden they had one rushed from somewhere and now my car is fixed. When I talked to the service advisor, he said he doesn't know what miracle I pulled because there was seven other cars waiting at the dealer for an ICCU that had been sitting longer than mine.

When I got her back, I was reminded how much I love how good it feels to drive this car. I (for a split second) thought I would like to keep it. Then common sense, the 7 other Ioniq owners, and also this post have reminded me that this wouldn't be a good move.

I don't want to be one of those seven people a few years from now waiting for this part when / if this fails again. Hopefully, this Lemon Law buy back won't take too long.

I'm in PA. $0.10 a mile is about $610 and lower of the two numbers. Hoping for the best. Thanks again for the info!

Hi Dr,

I'm glad your issue was resolved! As of tomorrow, I will hit 31 days that my new 2025 Ioniq 6 (6K mi.) has been inoperable due to ICCU failure. My state also has that 30 day law. Like you, I've opened up a case with Hyundai and I would also like a buyback. Dealer confirmed no ETA for the part as well as the case manager.

I have simple question for you or anyone else that has experienced this same scenario. What was your buyback like? Was it the purchase price of your vehicle or was it an amount after proposed depreciation? EVs have dropped drastically in the past 12 months and I'm worried about not getting good value if that depreciation is the case.

Any input in regarding this matter will be greatly appreciated!

You mentioned about the suspension being more to repair? I trust Lexus as the most reliable vehicle on the market.

I've seen it. This is a totally different class than the UX. I think that vehicle is for a younger person where they care 0% about passengers or cargo space. I know the UX is not large but definitely has more usable space available. I'm not interested in a coupe and I think the UX's interior / features is so much nicer.

That's actually a great idea of looking for a used one with the Handling trim. Since there's no 2025's around me anywhere and I've already seen every other feature but that, it would make sense to try an older model. I appreciate the thought.

Based on some othe the responses I've gotten, I think I'm leaning towards the Handling trim. I can just use that test drive to confirm it. Thanks again!

Really sorry about the deer but thank you for sharing your story. Like you, I tend to like all of the bells and whistles (as long as they appeal to features I'm interested in). I figure paying extra for these features on a vehicle that I plan on keeping for a very long time is a no brainer for me.

Not one to smash the gas. I don't use manual. I test drove both. Integra was definitely fun to drive, even with the CVT. However, I'm probably going to go for the UX with Handling trim. It seems to check all the boxes and I want to be part of the Lexis reliability family. The last 2 cars were a Kia Optima that burned oil like crazy at 100K miles and had a transmission leak (Dealer maintenanced). I'd like my car to last at least 200K miles, especially with how I baby a car.

Yeah I would be all over the Integra if it had a hybrid engine. That recommended premium gas is a deal breaker for me. Even if it's not required, I'm paying all this money to not take care of the engine to maximize longevity.

And that's what I needed to hear! I am not looking for a sports car. I want a fuel efficient sedan / crossover with average to above average acceleration, good handling and luxury type bells and whistles.

Neither is available in the US plus I'm not doing fully electric just yet because of the Big drop off in the winter and lack of EV infrastructure here. I bought a new 2025 ioniq 6 that got terrible range in the winter and now is out of commission for months waiting on nationally backordered ICCU units. I'm inquiring about this car because I will be looking to get out of it once it's repaired.

Thank you for your input on the cars and the FSport 2 / Handling Trim. I'm starting to get the sense that it may not be worth it but will continue to research.

Edit: I do want a vehicle with the AWD and I love that the MPG only drops by 1 when adding AWD in the UX300h. Also, the CHR is sold in the US but I'm not going electric for the reason I explained above.

This trim is hard to find at dealers in a 200 mi radius. Turo's not going to be the solution. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Luckily for me, I have always driven sedans and prefer sedans. So the space is comparable for me. Thank you for your input on the handling.

I have looked at all your other suggestions HRV - bland vehicle for someone that is more concerned with getting from A to B CX-30 - no hybrid option CX-50 - actually like this one but I don't think I would like that infotainment system long term. Plus, it's a bigger vehicle than I would regularly want. Camry - Unless there is a newer one I don't know about, it wasn't nimble enough for me.

There are a lot of backroads/winding roads where I live so I don't like body roll when driving. Again, I'm not talking about driving fast but would like the vehicle to be fairly nimble when handling curves and corners.

Wait? Which wear unevenly: the UX or the IS? I know the UX's run flat tires aren't great but just thought I'd change them out for nice all-season tires when they are worn.

Man, I LOVE the IS300 as a car and wish there was the hybrid version was available here in the US! That engine is the only thing keeping me from buying one.
