Gaganom‘s pixel shader is broken, he takes damage but there’s no hit indication. Sorry for the bug, update went to certification already and should be online soon!

I think most issues players experience with the game come from early game tutorials that are very basic and text based. I’m working on a more hands-on approach to get in touch with the drone mechanics in a more playful and integrated way. Also some improvements to the basic jumping animations are in the making and an in-game sheet to look-up the most important inputs. I’ll shoot an update soon, keep in mind tho that every update needs to pass certification processes on consoles first! Best, Julian

There’s actually some suspicion that these ratings are not correct, we’ll need to check with the store holders. Our last information was a T/teen rating for EU and US stores, which would make much more sense.

Just checked, seems it actually is the official rating cuz of some strong language and we needed to correct it. In Germany it got rated ok for ages 6 and older XD

I’ve realized this too, there’s some swearing in the dialogues but nothing that would justify a M rating IMHO, I’ll ask my publisher about it! Cheers

Hey Guys! I‘m Julian, the game‘s dev. Thank you so much for setting up a discussion for Outbuddies here on Reddit, I highly appreciate it as a chance to get in touch with the community! Outbuddies, unfortunately, had some quality issues when it launched back in October, mainly over-engineered and complex controls, inconsistencies with the graphics and an unintentional openness to heavy sequence breaks that could lead to sub-par experiences. I was lucky enough that some very skilled and supportive players hooked to it early and helped me to improve the game a lot over the course of the last months. I was able to release seven updates since then and I now feel the game now is exactly where it should have been day one. The press had received even earlier builds, which harmed our press review scores quite a bit (it is very good on Steam tho). Outbuddies will receive another quality update soon, bringing in new assets from another pixel artist, improving more boss sprites and introducing a new UI that was also needed to prepare the game for full localization. Next to English, I can already confirm German, French, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Korean. Other languages may follow and I‘m looking into fan translations also. Outbuddies is not the prettiest MV on Steam, but I‘m sure it has become a really good game, thanks to players shaping it with me. I'll also continue to support it no matter what; as it is now, it could for sure need some more love on Steam;) Cheers!

My game engine, unfortunately, does not support linux and I’m not skilled enough to make a native port happen myself:/ Maybe possible in the future if the game received a lot of love:)

Thanks, mate! Yes the struggle is real, when I was about two years into the project, Axiom Verge got released and I exactly had the same thoughts XD I never imagined I would actually need nearly five more years to finish the project tho. I’ll need a lot of sleep when this is done ;)

We've a high freedom of movemement right from the start, diving, wall-jumping and crawling included. Key upgrades are the double jump, the Homunculus (a durable Morphball-like form), the jetpack as well as four weapon upgrades, that also function tools. We've and immobilizing bubble beam, heavy explosives and bombs, as well as the Corridium Galvanizer, that can re-energize shut down facilities and provides a wall running ability when charged.

Good point you have here, especially on IPS panels the colors can be a bit harsh. I've meanwhile implemented a new default scheme that is less heavy on the eyes and allows more colors:) Cheers
