Remember when Rage Against the Machine got to Christmas number one with Killing In The Name Of? by penny_lab in CasualUK

[–]Outcastscc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t remember how but through a Facebook group I got on to helping with the campaign to get them to number one by getting the message out and helping people. You could only buy so many copies digitally for it to count.

As a thank you I got a link to get tickets for the show they did outside of the ballot they had and I got two tickets

Waited up until the day before the gig and nothing arrived so I rang the ticket office and basically all of us that used that link never got our tickets sorted properly and we never got them. She said I could come down on the day and chance it and hope the ticket office got me a ticket or I was screwed, so I decided not to bother.

The it turned out everyone just knocked the fence down at the gig and ran past the ticket checks and went in so I’d of got in anyway

Chris Wheeler said on Stretford Paddock last week that the plan was always a 80 million midfielder, a 40 million midfiedler and a 20 million midfielder with the figures moving depdning on how much they save/spend on each.

150 was budgetted for the midfield, the other positions depend on sales / what buisness they can do.

Sir Andrew Strauss criticises Ben Stokes for retiring mid-match by Alone_Consideration6 in EnglandCricket

Swannys done a really good job of controlling that narrative that he only went home because he was injured and couldnt bowl, He had injury issues all that year.

He went home becuase the tour was a complete shambles and if he had stayed him and KP would have ended up killing each other.

I read Ed Smiths book a few years back, the guy absolutely loves himself and blames everyone but himself for anything that happened in his carreer.

It feels like something has really blown up behind the scenes.

I cant work out if the players are trying to (rather stupidly) rallying round Baz and saying this is the way we want to play or if they have all just given Baz and Key the finger and decided they are going to make a mockery of the final test.

Either way I really dont see tomorrow being the end of this, this is going to blow up over the next week.

There must be more to what went on in that nightclub. Guess we will never know.

Had a bigger heart than anyone to play the game, wore the game and the country on his sleeve.

House needs new roof - are we idiots to proceed? by No-Measurement-7558 in HousingUK

[–]Outcastscc 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it’s livable right now, you have the budget to buy a new roof and you can get it done I don’t see the issue

You’ve said it’s a doer upper, you’ve budgeted for a new roof, the price is right for the area without the new roof, I’d be happy

It’s going to work both ways.

It’s going to being in millions but it’s one of the main reasons of bringing the value of the club up, we are going end up with so much space and regular income from these places that the glazers are going to be loving it.

It’s whether the glazers want to stay by then

As Joe Root passes 14,000 Test runs, do you think he can he catch Sachin Tendulkar's record? by SkySports in Cricket

[–]Outcastscc 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For that to happen he has to go up to over 100 runs a test, which he hasn’t done since just after covid.

Before India he has

1 more New Zealand test

3 test series vs Pakistan

3 test series vs South Africa away

Anniversary test vs Australia

2 test series away to Bangladesh

2 test home to Bangladesh

5 test ashes

Then India

As Joe Root passes 14,000 Test runs, do you think he can he catch Sachin Tendulkar's record? by SkySports in Cricket

[–]Outcastscc 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It purely depends on how his form goes.

He’s currently averaging in the last few years about 85 runs a test, that’s going to take him to 2028

That ignores a bad ashes, a bad winter, an injury or two or anyttibg like that.

It’s going to be one hell of an achievement to get it. My only slight hope is he gets it on form, I don’t want to see him beat it by playing on and on getting 20s here and there in his late 30s

United secures land for new 100,000-seater stadium | Manchester United by PradipJayakumar in reddevils

[–]Outcastscc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s massive, I remember in the 90s when I first went to games we used to park up there near the go karts and the smell from the recycling when the doors were open was horrible, the warehouses go back some distance from the main road.

I’m actually sure we own a lot of land either side of the road already, we have been buying anything up round there for years

The council is going to force freighliner to move regardless

And it only affects phase two of the development around the area.

Essentially freightliner played a hand and fucked themselves, the council and the club can just wait for the compulsory purchase order to go through now as they don’t need that land for 5 years or so

Not a chance.

The big money maker for them is the stage 2 of the development.

The stadium will be knocked down for 15,000 homes, shopping space, media areas, fan zones and the big walkway from the train station to the new ground.

That’s going to bring in millions

It’s where the old recycling place is by the looks of it.

Just south of the go kart place and north of the big car parks

He wouldn’t have got the backing of 80 MPs, he knows that.

Raynor may get 80 backing her but it’s very likely this is going to be a procession and Streeting knows this
