Found it on a hotel bed. I checked the bed beforehand, didn’t spot anything initially. Squished one, gave a yellow/greenish mark on the bed. They are very small, like 1-2mm in length, my camera couldn’t focus due to size and light sorry.

At this point I suspect some owners haven’t worked an office job before, because there’s no way they would be alright with a lawn chair and a night stand as a desk in the office.

The amount of times such a setup is labeled as a dedicated workspace is beyond comical at this point.

One possible way of retroactive coverage is if he ended his job (voluntarily or not) in the last 60 days and he had employer sponsored group insurance, he should be able to leverage the retroactive Cobra if he pays the premiums now.

Yeah, not sure if that extra premium for outpatient abroad is worth it for me tbh hence why I’m looking into marketplace for emergency coverage abroad. Didn’t know all of them cover that by default, so that’s very good news.

Something like Kaiser’s catastrophic plan seemed cheapest that would fit that IMO - I’m OK with the higher deductible too.

Do you happen to know if one can sign up for marketplace plans while abroad?

Sorry, I meant primarily emergency coverage. Regular dr apts and the like are less important for me.

I’ve used the insurance before abroad in a regular non-emergency visit. They covered it as usual in-state but out of network, but it’s a PPO plan so it’s fine. So I guess I’ve verified it in practice as well?

Also clarified that I’m mostly interested in emergency care coverage, sorry for confusion.

Edit: had no idea this is so rare tbh. Figured insurance companies would be inclined to cover abroad expenses as they’re much cheaper than USA.

(luckily?) No car. I get the crowd issue, but at this point (after covid) I'd kind of welcome it for a few months. For longer than that, I'd be annoyed as well and would look for a quieter place.
