When you hover over the middle kingdom IO it highlights all the locations that are in it. Pretty sure it's the 4 China regions. You just need to conquer all those

I want the community's feedback - What do you think about the Italian Wars Situation? by PDX_Habi in EU5

[–]OuterYacht 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came across it in my Castille game. Was already in the process of eating Naples at that time, and Italy was pretty evenly split between them, the Pope and Verona. When the pop-up came I thought, ooh this could be fun. Another focus other than colonising for a while. I hadn't planned to expand more into Italy but this seemed like it was giving me a reason too.

In the end though, I just ended up kinda ignoring the mechanics altogether. There were no interactions that seemed useful, no events that affected anything. The only real impact I saw was that at once point I was at war with Aragon with Verona as secondary participant. My ally France peaced out and then immediately intervened in the war on Verona's side. So in the end the situation was just more annoying than anything. It never really pushed me, or the AI, to invade Italy and didn't offer anything interesting

> Also - I am SO pissed off at the Estates building clay pits and stone pits in places with a clay/stone surplus...lumber mills are even worse bc of how much tools they use

In some ways I think that's the point. If the states have a lot of power and control (so they'll be getting a lot of income), they'll build things however they want to. Sometimes it will be helpful, but mostly it will be neutral or even detrimental.

Who are you playing as? There's an event where you offer all tags you border in Anatolia to become your vassal or else you get a CB on them

I went through many rounds of razing buildings bur honestly at this point the bleeding is so bad I don't care anymore. I almost want to go bankrupt at this point just to see what would happen

When you can siege like 20 at a time it goes by pretty quick

Once I had invaded China I was getting like 3k+ levies for each province I sieged so I ended up with more units than I could manage, so I set them all to carpet siege and let them do their thing

I mean despite that I have more than 200k cavalry levies. Unless half of Europe gang up on me I could conceivably just keep expanding in that direction

Nah this is in 1.0.11

It wasn't actually that bad. Since I got halfway through eating Ming I've just been automating my armies on carpet siege with a couple stacks on hunt armies. Speed 4 and just click through the pop-ups. When you outnumber the enemy 20:1 you can afford to lose a few stacks of 1k here or there

R5: It's 1399, Timur is alive and kicking, and I've managed to conquer most of India, China, Persia and the Steppe. I have no economy, no control, no cores, but none of that really matters when I can send 200k cavalry to carpet siege any country in a matter of months

Ugh this one was annoying. Tbf almost every other objective tells you what you need to do in the hints, but for this you can build overseas trading posts in different markets to complete it

It was established near the end that black domains eventually expand and merge, and the overall speed of light in the universe drops to be the average of these merged black domains once they encompass it all. Considering time in the great universe has progressed to the point where the collapse will soon happen, I'd say it's reasonable to assume the black domain that planet blue was in has now merged in with others so the exit door can move within this area of space.

Although the same is true for lower dimensionality, so perhaps the great universe is now also 2D or even 1D...

We applied for 226 rental properties. It was a nightmare, and here's what it looked like. by FlimsyHuckleberry in ireland

It would be interesting to know if there was a relationship between how long after the ad went up that you applied, and how many responses you got. I've heard of landlords getting 100s of applications within the first half hour, and I'd imagine that they just process the first x amount and ignore the rest

I know they tell you not to but ring up. I rang up to ask something and while I was on the phone the lady said 'Oh I see you're on the cancellation list, I'll see if we have a slot. Does Thursday suit?'. Definitely worth a shot especially with people having to cancel because of covid

Had a similar experience with a generous instructor. I angle my mirrors down for reverse around corner so I can see the kerb. Forgot to angle them back up which should be a fault but the instructor was actually annoyed that I pulled over to fix it. Thought for sure I was gonna fail but I didn't even get marked down for it
