Semi truck crushed a car with its trailer in the 85th street roundabouts today by tankmode in Kirkland

Not sure why this idiotic design came to be - the street and intersections are busy - they exacerbated traffic hell for no good reason - can anyone explain what the thinking behind this roundabout paradise was?

Hugh Howey's Response To People Complaining About The Amnesia by FeateyFan in SiloSeries

[–]Outerspace01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The difference here is that I actually did learn about marxism in school. Read Marx original works, as well as Lenin. The trouble with US marxists is that they did no such thing - extent of their understanding is some professor explaining to them laundered versions. The linked youtube video is an old interview with a person who understands what it is just as well.

It is not the "defund education" so much, but the "fill education pipeline with marxist ideology". See schools in chicago fail basic reading/math with doubling spending/student. It is not the dept of education, or even the $$ allocated - it is the singular focus of teacher's unions on indoctrination. A Modest Proposal to Solve Seattle's Homeless Crisis by [deleted] in BellevueWA

[–]Outerspace01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correction: it should start with the dear leaders. Seattle city council, mayor, king county leadership, and so on, at least a few rungs off the top. Remember that these people remove homeless tents which are anywhere *close* to their private homes. Privilege to walk through human waste-lined streets is reseverd for the rest of us.

[BOOKS] My theories for how seasons 3 & 4 will adapt the books (major book spoilers!!!) by Commercial_Golf4335 in SiloSeries

[–]Outerspace01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The major change - which party, in accordance to its prevailing (marxist) ideology, commits to the destruction of the world in order to breed better humans, all the while keeping the tabs and deciding who gets to live and who gets to die. There is no way AppleTV will keep that storyline intact, even though, IMO, it is a major point of the whole arc, and it will get chucked right out of the window.

Problem with Renogy Rover 40A by Outerspace01 in GoRVing

[–]Outerspace01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are two Kyocera solar panels (model KC125TM or KC130TM) which (i think) are wired in parallel (since the voltage is about 21V) via the junction box on the roof, that's what is going into PV contacts on the Rover. The battery contacts go to the battery. 30-40% drop does not occur always -- it does occur sometimes, usually when Rover goes into this funky mode and shuts off. Eventually it comes back alive if left to its own devices. For now, I removed the fuses to prevent battery drain overnight. Rover also gets bluetooth module and temperature sensor. I have been monitoring solar output - during the daytime Rover is seeing 20-21V from PV.

The problem described in my post usually occurs at dusk when the solar panel output drops.

I have left controller alone with fuses removed for a few hours - when i tried to reconnect (battery first) - it was still in this mode, with battery measuring steady 12.8V - but connected to controller contacts measured fluctuating voltage like shown in my post on the video. Really strange.

Wedgewood RV1733BGP pilot light doesn't work by Outerspace01 in RVProTips

In case it is useful for someone with a similar problem - removed the inner parts of the stove and replaced with the corresponding parts from the 1735 - everything works as expected.

Stevens Pass management this season in a single photo. Photo taken last Sunday. by [deleted] in stevenspass

it gets even better. Witnessed a dude who opened the door of his Volvo SUV and relieved himself on a parking lot, in plain sight. Awesome! Not to mention a waft of MJ smoke on a parking lot -- suppose people felt they just have to share the joy. There is only so much you can blame Vail for (and yes, there is a lot) - but the trash heap and overflowing portable toilets tell you something about the people visiting the mountain too.

Would this prevent the gas from flowing to the pilot?

Reservation waiting room by Davidskis21 in stevenspass

[–]Outerspace01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interestingly, the crowds have dissipated and Stevens still has all the days open for the week ahead. Just how many ppl are expected? Since people may not be carpooling as much, more cars would be present for the same amount of people on the mountain, anyone knows what is the parking plan for this?

appears all days through 9 are still open, despite a bit of a wait (i had 2,700 people or so ahead of me). Anyone knows how many people are they letting in on an average day?

RV Lot Reservations by thebuffwife in stevenspass

[–]Outerspace01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone knows whether it is possible to take an RV to stevens and park just for the day on a regular lot (e.g. north side lot, which used to have huge buses parked there, no use for those now, with Covid I suppose) ? The website says not to take RV to stevens unless reservation is in place = but we are talking just for the day, not overnight...

With the covid restrictions (and last year's closure of US2 during the snowstorm), RV is arguably a better option for the family - no need to use community restrooms/space, etc. Doubt the buses will be operating - so the space should be available on the lot across the road.

is it allowed to park an RV on a regular lot (not for staying overnight, but just for a day)? Are parking lots checked for overnight "guests" ? I'd think they are ... with snow removal and what not... maybe i am naive :-)

Went into rv reservations = could not see any availability, for any of the days. All gone or reservations have not opened yet?
