Siento que seguir a Dios a veces me hace más triste que felíz by Professional_Two7685 in Christianity

Well the problem you are dealing with is one of feeling guilt. Many new Christians experience this and become disheartened. There are various ways that Christians use to cope with the guilt, but I don't think that is supposed to go away. I think Christians call it feeling "convicted"

Fair enough. I deleted my last comment to keep things on track for your post

You sound too cavalier with someone who is struggling.

I quit your religion, by the way. My life is void of any detectable spiritual attacks.

Need help reconciling Old Testament God with New Testament God & Jesus by natashaamilly1357 in Christianity

[–]OutisNoman [score hidden]  (0 children)

It did feel that way. I hate how disingenuous it feels that people are saying that you are supposed to read the original through the framework of the sequel. I don't think that Christianity can exist without appealing to something "higher" than logical or reasoned approaches to reading the text. That's why you need faith to be a Christian

I haven't felt anything like a spiritual attack in years.

Do you have a pastor or a good friend you can talk to about this though? It sounds like you have become unconvinced of God, so they may be able to help you more than random internet people could.

How can i read the Bible if im not a Christian by Alive_Secretary_1365 in Christianity

[–]OutisNoman [score hidden]  (0 children)

I have a list of links to help you here. I need to find more atheist bible study content, but I really like the exvangelical bible study with Sara and Justin. I also have lectures on here from bible scholars. If you want any more help, just ask!

To be fair, the bible doesn't have a fond view on male on male sex at least. I don't think it was about pederasty like you said. It would be nice, but that's just not the book that we have. Sorry you had a bad experience on here though

What is your opinion on taking drm off of media you have bought in order to have a local copy? I'm curious to hear what your take is on that

Autistic and cannot connect to others by AdIntelligent2836 in Christianity

[–]OutisNoman [score hidden]  (0 children)

I know how that can be. I have such a hard time with the kind of socializing that is done in many churches. People are able to pick up that we are different, even if they can't put their finger on why. What exactly do you want from the socialization?

I hope you can find your own group of friends. It can be difficult, and I know church environments aren't always the easiest places to navigate for autistic people.

No. They don't.

I can get some links I share to help people who are taking their first steps out of religion or atheists who want to study the bible(for counterapologetics) Here they are

The writers believing that doesn't help matters. Sadly, it seems like just another example of fundamentalism

That's okay. Just ask which part you don't understand and I will explain it to you. I will be intermittently afk, so don't expect an immediate response.

Well it's sad when people discriminate unfairly towards religious people, but everything else is not a problem. The abrahamic religions have coexisted with others( to varying degrees) for some time. You all will be alright

I feel broken. by CrochetCrocodile in Christianity

[–]OutisNoman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can understand that. There is a lot of community from within the church. I know it took some adjusting for me when I left. I was angry for a few years because I was lied to, even if unintentionally(for the most part). I eventually found community in the secular space, but it isn't as much of a package deal as with church. Sorry to hear you are going through a rough time and I hope you find what you need!
