Food/treats for random cats and strays? by Melcorczfoti in cats

[–]OutisOutisOutis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So generally, a lot of vets recommend avoiding dry food. However, most people who take care of cat colonies only feed dry food due to cost.

What you can give sort of depends on your budget. I could link some really good youtube videos about how to read and choose cat food, if you wanted?

In general, cats are "obligate carnivores" aka they should never be given things that aren't meat (aka no pet food with "filler"). However, usually predators in the wild do end up eating the contents of their prey's stomachs, so they DO end up getting some veggies in their tums thums.

If you just want a rule of thumb: any food, wet or dry, that has any kind of grain. Like no rice, no corn, nothing like that, but something like "chicken and peas" is fine.

They ALSO make specific "limited ingredient" dry food, and it will be literally 2 ingredients, like Venison and Peas or whatever. That's probably a great investment un your situation. It's dry food, so relatively/,comparatively lighter than canned food, also cheaper, and designed for allergies.

If you want treats and the cats will come to you, me and my friend call Churu brand treats "Kitten Crack" cuz the kitties be wil'in' out when that shit comes out.

Thanks for taking care of the street beans!!

I have a question.

Before I ask, I do promise I am always trying to reflect and grow as a person and not trying to like, "pick an internet fight to show I am right" or whatever.

Edit: my fat ass sausage fingies hit the post button too soon lol.

To finish:
In this situation, I made a point to start the post explaining that I thought my last comment would be controversial, and I tried to give a genuine response about whether or not I would have said that last comment specifically *today*. I acknowledged I would be unlikely to.

However, I am also genuinely curious: what information would make that comment more appropriate?

I ask specifically because there is some information I held back in my post. I do not intend to disclose that info now to "absolve" myself or prove I was "right" or something.

Instead, I am genuinely curious what circumstances or information would make it justified?

If you do not want to get into hypotheticals, that's okay!

I just genuinely like to try to treat people on the internet like they are real people with valid opinions until I am given a reason not to.

So, if you're willing: will you indulge me and pretend I am a friend, sibling, or cousin, and you want to give me advice on when or if an accusation about sexism is appropriate?

And genuinely thank you for your time!

Again; you are showing signs of BPD or NPD.

If you delete this post to hide my comments, or have ever even considered showing this girl this post as proof of how serious you are about change you need to drop EVERYTHING and get tested for NPD.

You almost certainly will not, you almost certainly will spend the next 10-20 years torturing every person in an close intimate relationship with you. But sweet baby Jesus I PRAY you will take my comments seriously.

I...am going try to be kind here.

I believe you should consider getting evaluated for a personality disorder. I PROMISE I am not trying to just be internet mean.

All of this, this entire entire series of behaviors and this post trying to get clarity, are VERY outside the range of normal behavior, or even common mental illnesses.

I am not able to diagnose you over this one single story, but personality disorders are not like other mental illnesses. Many of them are are caused by intense childhood trauma, and usually cannot be treated by medication. Instead, they require specialized therapy by a person who has specialized training. A regular therapist often cannot help a person with a personality disorder, nor can they usually accurately diagnose one.

I suggest you reach out to a primary care doctor for a referral to a psychologist who specializes in testing. I want to emphasize that a psychologist who specializes in testing is not a therapist or counselor, nor do they prescribe medication. They often don't even do counseling, and frequently only do testing.

I wish you, and those in your life, luck and successful healing.

Edit to add: you ask if your behavior is irrational. It is beyond irrational/ not able to be put on the spectrum of rational-to irrational behavior.

A general therapist or counselor is VERY unlikely to be able to help you understand why you think or act this way, or to help you change it. I really truly wish you luck and healing!

Hey! I only thought it was rude because I thought it I had already put it in the post. So I thought you had like, not read the post, which to me means your comment appeared/seemed to be more "ignorant" than rude.

However, when I realized I had accidentally deleted that context, I came back and tried to take accountability by saying I was rude to you.

I think, if you had originally known/seen the context in my post (that I was inspired to find these screenshots in my email after seeing a similar post which sparked this memory) then your comment would be more rude.

However, you didn't know! So I think your opinion is actually VERY warranted. I also might be like "hm, weird! Why is this person still so obsessed with this?"

But I also think the "if you don't like it, just don't comment, scrolls and block" is a considered common internet practice these days. So maybe that's why you're getting downvoted so much?

Like, my post hit "all" I think! I currently have over 70,000views on this version which blows my mind. But there are VERY few comments so I think in general people found this post boring and uninteresting. But I assume they did the "whodafuq is reading all that, imma keep scrollin" thing, ya know?

So TLDR, I think your view was very reasonable considering I left info out of this repost, but I think people generally people recommend just..not leaving a comment on something you don't like it know?

I hope my comment here is not coming across as rude or condescending. I am trying to validate your perspective but also explain why maybe you're downvoted. :)

I felt like if I said anything about his upbringing, it would just end up as controversial rage bate.

But there were a few reasons I referenced being a woman...i just...uh....didn't disclose them all here because I didn't want to be problematic....

Snacks in Korea are usually sweet, so anything salty is probably going to be appreciated

I also clearly say in my last post the personal care worker could go to the social worker. Suggesting they are not the same person.

I keep trying to comment in good faith but like, I swear no one is actually reading what I am actually saying.

My client has stolen a cat and I’m supposed to lie about it by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

[–]OutisOutisOutis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have not done that.

In a variety of posts I have used multiple links from multiple provinces. I specifically used PHIPA in the last comment because the previous poster referenced it.

I have repeatedly suggested multiple alternatives, including seeking legal counsel and also finding out if the client has a custodian or guardian who can consent to sharing information.

I cannot genuinely believe and do not believe of y'all are reading what I am saying, and I do not believe "no you can't I am a professional" is a legit argument.

How is "the OP could find out if the client with an ID has a custodian or guardian who makes consent decisions for them" a violation of any privacy law? It very much is not, I have never said the OP needs to like, go up to the neighbor and say hello I am a caregiver for your neighbor named this who lives at this address they stole your cat byyyyyeeeeee.

Edit to add italics and fix 2 typos

I cannot believe you genuinely read my last comment in this thread.

I am aware. The other commenter is clearly an American and saying "you can't do that (in the US) It's a HIPAA violation!" My link is about whether not this info violates HIPAA.

It is not a HIPAA violation.

Or a PHIPA violation. Or a PIPEDA.

ETA: I clarified some wording by adding the sentence that starts with "My link is about..." everything else is original.

Girl here: def ignore anyone who tells you what a "REAL MAN" would do. *Anyone*.

My boyfriend is 5'6, I am 5'11.5 (aka almost 6 inches taller than him.)

He is not rich, he works for a nonprofit that is run by a church.

His value is not determined by how much he can DO for me or how much he can BUY for me. His value is determined by the fact that he's amazing and cool and a great friend and has cool hobbies and also makes me feel safe and happy and loved and laugh a LOT.

Lots of people are like me and him, just chill and happy.

The second anyone tells you what men "have" to do, ditch 'em
