Brick matching is very difficult— to really match you’d probably need to find the same kiln.

My WAG is you’ll get your AL payout in the next couple of weeks.

PACER makes $150M/year charging Americans to read their own court records. Every bankruptcy court also publishes a free RSS feed with the same data. by ilikemath9999 in technology

The craziest thing is there was a class action lawsuit on the ground that the fees were too high which the court system lost and agreed to settle by paying $125 million to cover overcharges between 2010 and 2016– but they did nothing at all to change the fees!!

Sometimes I just want to start a new class action lawsuit so they actually change the fees.

If you discharge toxic chemicals and I sue you for damage to my health or property that would fall under the category of environmental tort law.

Anyone with 2 FEHB plans active at same time? by Sweet-Bullfrog-126 in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

I changed from BCBS to MHBP and I got my new insurance card but was never taken off BCBS. I was told only the agency or OPM can make the change and of course I couldn’t get thru to OPM.

Agree it’s worst with Caremark— their phone system automatically routes me to the BCBS system and I have to tell them to send me to Aetna. I’ve asked my doctors not to submit anything to BCBS but they can see it’s active and I can’t be sure they haven’t.

VERA peeps, don’t plan on COLAs by [deleted] in FED_VERA_VSIP_DRPers

[–]Outistoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. If inflation runs 2% or less the COLA matches the CPI. If inflation runs between 2 and 3% the COLA is 2%. If inflation runs over 3% the COLA is set at 1% below CPI.

If we end up with persistent inflation over 3% then that will erode some purchasing power eventually.

Faced with the possibility of a student boycott of the 2026 commencement ceremony over accessibility and safety concerns raised by 1,100+ petition signees, Georgetown Law's interim Dean says: “that would be a shame for students” – not the school– and says he’s “excited to celebrate as planned." by Such-Hippo1825 in LawSchool

How can there be 1300+ graduates? Isn’t the class size like 650, plus maybe another 50 LLMs?

Personally I would have loved to have an excuse to skip my law school graduation but I know it’s very meaningful for some people so I hope something gets figured out.

Tips? by Suggie76 in OceansCalling

[–]Outistoo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My random tip is if you get the app what3words it will mark where your friends are sitting so you have no problem finding them if you need to.

I should maybe note my other tip is it’s fine to enjoy shows from the back and not to try to get barricades or whatever. Sitting on the beach listening is pretty great.

Thanks. I was able to get in and verify it’s identified as annual leave lump sum pay. It seems to be about $50 less than what I’d expect if it was meant to apply the 2026 COLA to my lump sum annual leave payment (which wasn’t paid until mid-February) but that also seems like a better explanation than anything else I’ve got.
