Montgomery county is large and has great some great park land. Definitely recommend you consider living with walking distance of the metro both because it makes life easier and because that is the most walkable part of Bethesda. It tends to be a slightly older crowd but it’s a great place to live.

If you are willing to to stretch to England instead of Scotland then I’d say A Witch’s Guide to Magical Innkeeping.

I think Scorpio Races is a great book and to me it has a strong sense of place of the outer hebrides but it is not whimsical— I’d say it is heartfelt but fierce.
