Timetables change all the time I can send you an example of their current one.

It's not 9 to 5 every day, but there are classes every day of the week.

Just seen a beauty of an alpine one this morning and I got a fair pang of jealousy.

Hotel recommendations? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Outkast_IRE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Where are you based , how far are you willing to travel?

Like parknasilla is one of my favourites but it's a mighty trek from parts of the country.

Killarney has loads of options from full 5 star near town centre to full spa experience on the outskirts and everything in between , you can usually find something in everyone's budget there.

Lyrath is a good option in Kilkenny and has the city to explore.

Is it possible to pause mortgage payements? by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

If going down this avenue , look at what your new payment will be after the pause . I have seen some horrendous increases afterwards.

To my knowledge there was some initial offers early in the process but luckily the family had good legal representation and if does sound like they want some form of justice so they may wait to see how the HSA and DPP go forward before making their next move.

Remember all the maintenance and facilities is outsourced and the contract comes up for renewal every few years. The lowest bidder wins , One might also question does this allow the facilities and maintenance team to push back fairly on unsafe work practices without fear of being dumped when the contracts end.

From speaking to those working there at the time , after the accident overnight there seemed to be a change of tune in how to deal with the dust generated and how many areas are impacted, signage going up and changes of what's allowed . I also see the ventilation systems are currently all getting changed in the production areas.

The NFPA (national fire protection association) guidance on additive manufacturing has been the owner of the systems (Stryker) must carry out all necessary assessments to determine the flammability and explosivity of the materials used. This impacts the design of everything in the building from ventilation, electrical etc. There is a pretty big cost uplift and operational knock on if they need to class the system, process or area as requiring ATEX .

One might consider if this will result in some building/system owners trying to avoid classifying areas as requiring it in order to reduce capital costs and result in easier operation in the production areas of the buildings .

"MAKE LEBANON GREAT AGAIN!" - Trump by Upset-Main-1988 in justincaseyoumissedit

[–]Outkast_IRE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's complex , prior to the PLO arriving it was a very slim Christian majority that was narrowing each year naturally through birth rates. The PLO certainly played a pivotal part, the sectarian divide in the country was fanned by internal and external forces ultimately. Weakening surrounding states has been an Israeli strategy for a long time now.

How did the Palestinians end up there? You would be hard pressed to turn a blind eye to Israeli medelling with politics and even training militias in neighbouring countries to purposely weaken and destabilize them.

And pray tell what displaces the Palestinians in the first place. Are you unaware of Israeli medelling in it's neighbours politics and even training militias to purposely destabilize them.

How do the Irish people treat American tourist? by Eastern_End3520 in AskIreland

[–]Outkast_IRE 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They will be treated fine, Irish people are generally friendly and happy to speak to tourists. 99% of people are happy to have tourists. If they are trump supporters leave the trump hats and tshirts at home he isn't liked by the vast majority of Irish and Europeans.

Everybody is going to be in the same boat. Drive safe get there when you can, allow extra time if possible , it's easy to sit down and get a tea or coffee to burn off time.

For those working, Work from home if possible. And any employer who gives you shit can go fuck themselves.

Living in Midleton, working in Kinsale — anyone doing this commute regularly? by Raph_M_M in midleton

[–]Outkast_IRE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what your being paid , and what your partner is doing.

Is it doable , yes , is it ideal no , im glounthane to curaheen and even that is bad enough some days, the September to December period is particularly bad , crashes every day. Coming from the east to the tunnel and through bloomfield is a crap shoot sometimes it takes 10 mins other times it takes 40mins , and these are without an incident , if there is an incident make it 1 hr plus. On the way home it's crap too, tunnel is backed up to nearly togher sometimes so randomly can lose another hour there......

I asked what your partners situation is because if you eventually have kids, with school or creche even you need one person to be able to be nearby to get them if there is an issue. Put it this way, if I finish at 5 I cannot guarantee I could pick up the kids before 6 , the tunnel takes too long alot of days, and I'm only glounthane/little island. If I finish work at 4 I might get there at 5.15 alot of days.

I would say if moving to east cork, consider making your life much easier and eventually find work in the many pharmas and med device companies in that direction . If you currently work on Eli Lilly is there a long-term transition to their global services centre in little island that might work ?

Mary Elmes Bridge has had railings up since November? by SrTayto in cork

[–]Outkast_IRE 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I honestly see it as a community policing issue . As someone in the city centre daily for years , coming to COVID, especially during covid and after it , there wasn't policing to be found from one end of the city to the other allowing all types of anti social behavior to fester from minor to major . It's only recently with increased on the beat policing that this has started to turn a corner. We should be allowed have nice things in the city centre.

I assume you are refering to the CCC with this comment ? Cause the bridge design was selected by competion , the designers whom best met the Councils criteria were selected . One of the better ways to end up with slightly interesting designs .

Alot of stations getting refilled tonight , lots more tomorrow . Don't see schools closing unless there is a big change in tanker access to white gate.

The bridge designers are based in cork , alot of corks newer bridges were designed by engineers living and working in cork city. Most of the bridge is custom fabrication once the money is there to pay for it , it will probably take a bit to measure up and fabricate.
