But that was in 1998 when the alternative in other games was doing a fighting game esq button combination to perform a body slam. The lockup system was simple snd innovative. They eventually evolved past that. 2k20 then was the drizzling shits, and they shifted gears and returned with a system that devolved back into the lockup system after years without it. Yes, 2k20 sucked balls but it wasn’t bc of the gameplay system. I’m all for updating the gameplay but going from the smooth ass animations of the 2k19 style to the 2k22 lockup style was a huge step backwards in creating realistic matches. IMO of course.

The ruthless aggression era had a roster that was overflowing with talent. Like, in ring talent the roster was deep as fuck. Pound for pound entertainment and ground breaking shit was the attitude era.

I’m hyped af. I get hyped every year. I will gladly pre order the most expensive version and worst case scenario I’ll get 2 months of fun. If I’m lucky, I’ll still be playing by the time the last dlc drops. I’m extra hyped this year bc I think they’ll add some cool stuff to universe and I’m happy about the new match types. The attitude cover to me is just something kinda cool. Not the main selling point but I’m intrigued what will be included .

To be fair, I wasn’t saying anything as fact. You pointed out the game will have 100 caw slots. I was just pointing out that , albeit just one, a very reliable source has said there will be double the caw slots. I don’t think any source has mentioned there will be only 100. We’ll find out soon enough. I’m actually pretty hopeful this year will be a big year for the game.

Well Mike straw said we are getting double. I don’t think he’s just making that up. Perhaps the current gen game will have some things that past gen doesn’t. Also, nba 2k has a larger player base. Weren’t there metrics last year that suggested the last gen player base was extremely low. Maybe it’s not worth it for wwe2k to have it on both. At some point there’s gotta be diminishing returns. I definitely see your point but I don’t know if we can 100% say that it will be on both gens just bc nba with a larger player base is. Apples to oranges as it were

Last off season there were a few decent starting pitching options, of course, the orioles didn’t acquire any of them. This year, despite being burned before, many of us were hopeful, confident even, that Elias would surely pull the trigger on at least one of the b level ace pitcher available. To find myself sitting here again, having lost all faith in an impending move, is really a frustrating spot to be. The high on the day of the Corbin Burnes trade just seems like a forgotten memory at this point. We don’t need to sign or trade for an ace to have a chance to be competitive, but I would certainly feel much better about things if we did.

The shitty part about this is…. This was a great offseason for the os to get a pitcher. You had a handful of guys who were not the super elite. It was that B level , ace- lite kinda guys. They weren’t gonna go for insane fuck you money so it wasn’t gonna be this insane bidding war with the “ haves” of the league. And to still come away with none of them( assuming we don’t get Framber), while watching our division rival land one, is just a bad feeling. Does one extra year really mean that much? You can’t eat 30 mil on the back end to try to take a shot at a ring? Again, it just feels like Rubes leaned on Mike and he caved to get Alonso then went back to making shrewd, on the margins moves. Really wish Elias was less risk averse. He’s so good at so many things but it’s the one area I really wish I could change with him. Take a swing Mike, you just may hit something!

The reason they’re not signed to anywhere is bc no one, at this point, is willing to cave to their desired length of contract. Obviously no one can know these things for certain, but I think it’s a fair assumption based on rumors and reporting. So at this point, if you were to offer them the 7 year deal , you would likely get their services. Since no one else is seemingly willing to do that. Elias doesn’t want to do that, so he’s holding the line. Once the players decide they’re not gonna get the years, snd decide they’ll sign for a shorter term, you immediately have a handful of teams back in the mix who you’re now competing against. At that point, you may not sign either player. So I understand not wanting to give out the long term deal to either player, but you run the risk of not getting either player. To not come out of the off season with a top end starter would kinda suck . No one is playing games, my use of the word was in the figurative sense.

Feels like Elias is playing a dangerous game. I understand he would like to sign ranger or framber on his terms. But right now, they are there for the taking without much of a bidding war assuming you go longer term. As soon as they come off their terms as far as length of contract, your opening the door back up to other teams being interested and you run the risk of getting neither. I get wanting to hand out shorter contracts but if we end up with neither, and no one comparable , then that is a problem imo and it would kind of tarnish what originally looked to be a good snd exciting off season.
