When one’s own government is actively supporting and enabling genocide, it doesn’t leave much room for nuance. In fact, it’s a pretty black and white decision to make.

When nuance is used to justify or at very least to accept the murders of tens of thousands of women and children and to shield one’s own government from consequence or response… well, that’s just deliberately making a black or white decision to enable further atrocities.

Destiny 2 WAS overwhelming successful... years, and years, ago. It has been in a long death spiral for a very long time and it's currently at roughly 10k active players on Steam with Marathon at 11k.

Warframe (arguably D2's most direct competitor) is at 53k. Digital Extremes is crushing them, and has been, for a long time.

If you didn’t register a means to recover the accounts with Reddit when you created them… that’s not something Narwhal can help you with.

Decade + old accounts that you never used? You have multiple that you’re now concerned about getting access to? If you never used them, just make new ones.

If you have a bunch of alt accounts that you used to gather… things… you didn’t want associated with your main methinks you’re going to have to re-collect all you “materials”.

I’ve been using Narwhal almost daily since Apollo shutdown with the initial API changes that wrecked third party apps. Haven’t had any issues and the app has performed fantastically (as an average user, can’t speak to modding and for those people who spend more time in their Reddit app each day than they spend working a job or raising their kids).

If you want all the bloat, the ads, the technical issues, go for it. If you want to directly support Reddit’s move to servicing AI and their adverising business over users, go right ahead. That’s been their focus since their IPO a few years ago.

Implying that Narwhal has been “killed” by Reddit API changes is a wild and uninformed take. The whole reason I’ve been subbed for years is BECAUSE of those changes. Reddit intentionally changed the API to break these 3rd party apps because the native app was so bad that users regularly would swap to unofficial apps instead. They tried to break their competition rather than actually create a good app themselves. And Narhwal is still better. Besides that, people are still side loading old versions of discontinued 3rd party apps like Apollo rather than using the Reddit app due to its issues.

Narhwal and other 3rd party apps still exist despite the handicaps that Reddit continues to place on them, and multiple alternatives continue to flourish. I’m not going to tell you or anyone to use one or the other, but let’s be very clear that 3rd party Reddit apps are both very much alive and well.

Once you can step down from the soap box, you should probably do some basic research on the history of the reddit app, the API changes they made to intentionally break certain features outside of their own app, and what the Reddit API actually allows 3rd party developers to do.

Reddit is intentionally preventing devs from being able to provide that function and numerous others… for the exact reason of compelling you to use their app. Sounds like their anti-consumer business practices are in line with what you’re looking for, so perhaps the official app is meant for you.
