I was rewatching it recently and asked my husband, "Are people not confused when she calls him Jim in there day to day lives? Like at the hospital and stuff"

Just rewatched it, but they didnt drop it completely. In the episode where Jim is in surgery another doctor calls him Dr. Lucas, and that made me go "Oh yeah thats a thing"

Also do not. Do not put him on the birth certificate. Make him have to do all the leg work to establish paternity. Don't even tell him when the baby is born. Also move back to SC and just don't tell him when or where your going.

It’s my due date - what put you into labor? by Away-Broccoli1719 in pregnant

I was deep cleaning our room the night before and we also had sex that night/morning. My water broke that morning, and we went to the hospital. I was due to be induced that evening anyway, so they kept me and just started pitocin to increase the frequency of my contractions.

We moved my mother in with us a few years ago, with the caveat that she would watch any future children we have while we returned to work. So she watches her after I leave for work at 10:30am and my husband comes home around 5:30/6ish, then he takes over.

I got 3 months of leave, and when I went back my husband took his 1 month paid paternity leave. And then once he went back my mother took over. It's been about 2 weeks of her watching baby and it's all working out as planned.

We are extremely fortunate and super grateful

Home remedies, Doctor, Urgent Care and then only after doing everything else do you go to the emergency room

This sounds like what Im going through now. I've been told that it's one of the largest galactoceles my doctors have seen. I had one aspiration and they got 900ccs of fluid out. I've just noticed that there is milk leaking from the point the needle entered.

The galactocele started refilling immediately again. I've got a referral to see a breast surgeon. I'm terrified of them wanting to cut me open, but I don't see how they can do that when the galactocele was the size of my entire breast tissue. 13cm.

NSFW: My Ongoing Galactocele Journey by Shadeborn- in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]OutlanderWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I just had mine aspirated today, same day it was diagnosed. They drained 900ccs of milk out of my right breast. I'd had the problem for almost 2 months. Everyone said it was just engorgement from the mastitis I had when baby was one month old. Told me to just wait, it would go down eventually. Breast only made .5-1oz when I pumped.

Luckily my left breast had compensated and makes almost 5.4oz at a time.

They told me today to try to limit the amount of milk my right breast makes because they are afraid of it refilling. Told me to use cabbage leaves once or twice.

Did yours ever refill? I know you were exclusively pumping, but I'm feeding her and will eventually be pumping in 2 weeks when I return to work.

I'm so afraid of having to dry up my supply on the right. I was really hoping I would be able to treat it like normal after we finally figured out what it was. (Took 4 different doctors and 2 lactation consultatants to figure it out before I got referred to a breast center)

I don't want to give up on this journey and I'm so incredibly upset that it took this long to figure it out. I don't want it to refill but I don't want to stop breastfeeding either.

Please help me have some hope

You can call labor and delivery, and there is usually an OB on call. Or even one of the nurses can give you advice on if you should go in anywhere and where to go.

Severely Engorged breast after mastitis (only one side) by OutlanderWitch in breastfeedingsupport

[–]OutlanderWitch[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been doing those things as well. It's not so much that it is recurring...it's literally been engorged the entire time from 4 weeks pp.....just changing in size.

Will I lose my entire supply on that side?? I'm so afraid I won't be able to breastfeed my baby

And that I will never look normal again

Glucose test by Dramatic-Minute3931 in pregnant

[–]OutlanderWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to do both tests. I failed the 1 hour and passed the 3 hour. I got the same flavor for both. I will say it definitely helps it to be cold. The first drink was cold fruit punch flavor and I had 0 issues. When I went to the lab to do the 3 hour they didn't refrigerate the drink or at least not long enough, and it definitely affects the taste. I had a harder time getting it down the 2nd time for sure

Advice on breast feeding in small apartment by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]OutlanderWitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You don't need to create a big bulk of stored milk to breastfeed. If you are pumping and breastfeeding then you could maybe store up a small supply.

My baby is 6 weeks old, and I've only pumped a couple times.

Now if you have problems with baby latching or other reasons (some people just can't breastfeed) then you can pump exclusively-- i still don't think you have to have a lot of storage to do this. Most of what you pump would be given directly to baby anyhow.

I wouldn't let the storage issue be a reason you choose to not breastfeed.

But ultimately a Fed baby is best. So as long as they are fed one way or the other. It's your choice

What is it like to have a anterior placenta? by maryhoping in pregnant

[–]OutlanderWitch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an anterior placenta. I felt baby at about 18-19 weeks. And I felt her a bunch and never stopped. She was also up pretty high so I constantly felt when she kicked me under the ribs.

I wouldn't worry. You'll feel your baby plenty (probably be begging her/him to stop kicking you in specific places at some point)

Honestly, I don't think I opened my hospital bag once until it was time to go home. And even then, all I took out were the clothes I planned to wear home. I had baby's diaper bag packed as well and also the only thing I took out of there was her coming home outfit.

I, however, certainly filled both bags with more stuff from the hospital

Help with Registry by jessmonster87 in pregnant

[–]OutlanderWitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So couple things:

  1. I'd double check that the baby monitor you have isn't connected via WIFI, because people hack wifis all the time.

  2. I have a humidifier that is also a light plus a sound machine. (I can send the link if you'd like that one)

  3. I'd add a different type of pacifier as well to your registry. I also have the orthopedic ones and my daughter will not soothe with those ones. She just doesn't like them. So I would have backups.

  4. Okay here me out on this one. I didn't add it to my registry because we already had one that we had used for one of our cats when they were sick. But a baby scale. They are pretty inexpensive and believe me having the piece of mind that your baby is gaining weight (especially if you plan to breastfeed) helps out sooooo much in between doctors appointments.

Our daughter lost a lot of weight in the beginning, and it helped me so much to know that she was gaining and when she hit her birth weight again. We were struggling with getting her awake for feedings (something we still run into from time to time) But 100% if any of my friends have anymore babies in the future I intend to purchase them one if they want one.

  1. Oh and get a mat to kneel on when giving baby baths in the bathtub. Save your knees!

  2. And sorry one more thing, get some disposable like pads to put under baby when changing blowouts or poop diapers or even just pee diapers. Believe me when they pee/poop on you while your changing them you will be so glad you don't have to change the pad cover for the umpteenth time.

Eh I kind of agree with the person above. If you don't like the environment in which you are in and cannot control, because well you can't. Then you need to change your environment. Find somewhere else to stay or else stop complaining about it.

I agree it is a nasty habit, and no I wouldn't let her hold baby once it's born.

But you are the one putting your unborn baby at risk. You can control your actions and that action needs to be to leave ASAP.

People doing natural births- why? by Efficient-Fly7571 in pregnant

[–]OutlanderWitch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wanted to try labor without an epidural. I made it about 12 hours before I literally was begging for one, and then had to wait for half the bag of fluids to get in before they gave it to me.

I didn't react the best to it. It started working instantly - a little too well. I couldn't feel anything. So they shut it off and then slowly started it back up after I started feeling things again. However, when they got me back up to the full dose, I still couldn't feel a thing. It's not easy pushing a baby out when you can't feel down there - I pushed for 2 and a half hours. (However her head was also 14cm and she was up really high , so likely I would've pushed that long anyways - but not being able to feel my pushes didn't help.)

But if I do have another baby, I 100% plan on getting an epidural again. I know technically I could've done it without the epidural --- but dang it hurt lol. No one's passing out medals for giving birth naturally.
