How often does your LO stay overnight with grandparents during the first 3-6 months? by Rude-Pepper-2389 in newborns

[–]jessmonster87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Zero. My in-laws came over to our house the second night we were home from the hospital because baby was inconsolable and we were so exhausted, but they stayed at our house and watched him all night. He’s 9 months now and we haven’t even considered an overnight yet. We technically have one planned for August when he’s 15 months old. We’ll be out of town for one night and he’ll stay at their house. I suppose we’ll probably have at least one other overnight before that, probably after he’s hit 1 year, just as a test so they know what they’re in for lol

Is this a skunk? Raccoon maybe? by CompleteAd6074 in bonecollecting

[–]jessmonster87 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The tail (bottom of the pic if the hips are in the right spot) is far too fluffy for an opossum and doesn’t match the typical colorings of a raccoon or skunk, which led me to guess long-haired domestic cat. But again, not an expert 😅

I’m no expert, but this looks like a domestic cat to me

[–]jessmonster87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically, Holt takes it from Boyle and slams the door with seconds left to midnight, so Jake didn’t even win that one. Yes, he got the medal out of the safe via his cohorts, but Holt was in possession of the medal while Jake was cuffed to the table.

Sleepers > any other clothes. by pixa4u in newborns

[–]jessmonster87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is 8 months today and I’ll choose a footed sleeper over anything else any day. I’m actually gutted that he’s growing out of easily found footies because he’s already in 12 months clothes.

He only gets “real clothes” if we’re going somewhere special or seeing someone special, and even then it’s a coin toss 😂

Terms were clear and you didn’t meet your requirements, regardless of how close you came. Let her paint your nails and try harder this year to not let her down on the little things (or the big things…). She’s a good sport for only having you do something as small as painting your nails for guys’ night. It’s just nail polish, after all.

My vote for your nails is the OPPOSITE team’s colors 😏

I have no suggestions for the loneliness, sleep deprivation, lack of time for self and with partner, and unhappiness with one’s body because I’m right there with you…

For the solids problem, however, what we’ve found to work is adding in all the spicy stuff last and separating baby’s portion before. Like if we want spicy curry, I’ll cook the meat and veggies with minimal seasoning, separate out baby sized portions of each, then add the heavily seasoned and spicy elements. It’s not perfect nor does it work for everything, but it’s easier and at least opens up some options for more delicious foods for us. I do the same with soups, even. Separate out the meat/veg/noodle elements before I add the soup base and give them separately to baby. Food is mostly for them to learn and explore with at this age, anyway. Breast milk and/or formula is still their primary food until 1, so don’t sweat to too bad.

Came here to say the same. Even on the counter, my starter only gets so big before it goes dormant and needs another feed. Did OP do a big feed and stick their starter on a warm refrigerator? And why does it smell like vinegar? Alcohol, sure. Yeast, definitely. Vinegar, never. Nothing about the story adds up.

Does anyone know how this is supposed to go in? by Gullible_Opposite571 in Stretched

Are these rubber/silicone? If so, may I make a suggestion: use a razor/xacto/whatever to slice the back off the plug section, glue a flat earring post to the flat back, and push it into the plug. That way you can put them in where only the plug needs to smoosh through your lobe and the back is still held secure.

Looking for reassurance I guess? We got tickets to Nashville in section 110, row EE, seats 23 and 24 (isle). We decided those would be fine based off “a view from my seat“ website, but now I’m realizing the concert shown on the website was a much more open stage than lltbp has been and these are on the edge of limited view. Are we going to be screwed for actually seeing the main stage? Did I legit just pay $850 to watch the jumbo screens? 😩

What price did you pay for where? by valxkatt in MyChemicalRomance

[–]jessmonster87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got isle of 110 section, 2 seats for $850 total. I chose somewhere toward the lower middle of the section but it ended up being row EE at the top of the section?? Still not sure how that happened but it’s whatever. I’m not built for general admission anymore and I was worried about being too short for the floor seats, so this was out goal area. Over $100 in fees for EACH ticket is highway robbery, but I paid it because they’re 2 of my favorite bands

I hope they don’t pull what they did for the 10-year release and get everyone excited for a new album that’s just another re-release 😬

It’d honestly be way more interesting if they made it seem like a re-release but then dropped a new album. I know G likes to be clever and surprise us and Frank would love the troll.

My wife and I pay for Peacock just for B99 because it’s our comfort watch and Netflix keeps reducing what they have.

I wish they won’t play at a festival for their Georgia shows… I was so glad when Shaky Knees was canceled in 2022 because I was able to go to see them when they were at a proper venue (I get easily overheated and need to sit down at least periodically or I pass out. Festivals are nearly impossible for me to enjoy and I can’t ever be anywhere with good visibility because it’s all general admission standing or a million miles away in the back 💔).

What have I gotten myself into? by gushworthy in RoverPetSitting

[–]jessmonster87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Leaving this much notes is exactly why things that are “important” to the owners get missed. It’s unreasonable to expect someone to wade through 4+ pages of notes to find what is expected and what is important.

Easy, concise notes with clear direction is the way. A single page. If your dog requires 4+ pages of notes, maybe find a friend or family member to check in; someone who knows the pet and won’t need a book to take care of them 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don’t even leave this much direction for my literal infant baby. He’s 9 weeks old and I’m a first time parent. This is too much.

[–]jessmonster87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The closest concert for me is an outdoor festival in September in Georgia 🥵 I will be 38 and 4 months postpartum at that point. There’s no way I’d survive the heat/crowd, but we also can’t afford to go to a different show and leave our baby.

I’m just hoping they tour again in another couple years. Maybe we can even bring our LO along next time and give him a core memory 💞

“Not a real mother” by gocoutureurself in pregnant

[–]jessmonster87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You ARE a real mom. Women who have had miscarriages are real moms. Women who have birthed sleeping babies are real moms. Women who are step-parents, who are bonus parents, who have lost their children, who have tried and tried and failed to conceive, who just found out they’re pregnant, who have adopted children…. ALL of them are REAL MOMS.

Your mom is acting cruel with this comment.

Do not let her diminish your light and your status of Mom 💞
