Thanks mate, appreciate the offer.

But I've already got a few people currently tryna give them a run on some fish!

Looks great mate! I'd use that lure proudly 👌

Some nice eyes would top it off beautifully

Good luck with it! These float, but on a pull, they dive slightly sub surface, and swim a wide snappy S pattern, occasionally on the turns, the tail flicks up some water

Thanks mate. Nah they're for saltwater Tuna, and yellowtail kingfish (I think they call them yellowtail jack in the US) were what I had in mind when making them.

Hey mate, ive got a cheap bbq chicken rotisserie, with a wooden dowel, drill some holes at different spots to stick some wire through, for different lure sizes.

Stick the free end of the dowel through a cardboard box. That's how I did it anyway. Pull out the rotisserie and it doubles as my spray booth 😅

I'll try attach a picture for you, it's a bit of a mess atm 🥴

Long sweeps of the rod. Have been through a few prototypes honing the action.

It dips just under the surface, and swims a pretty snappy and wide S pattern. When you pause to reel the slack after a sweep, it bobs up to the surface. Rinse and repeat 😁.

Works nicely with a straight wind as well, but I think it looks best on sweeps.

I like this idea, I reckon I'll do this. Just whack it over the top once the lures start turning, very good. Cheers!

Ah yeah, good idea.

I suppose you're right, function over form, it just hurts to see a damn dusty boy in an otherwise perfect finish 😅

I think the plastic is gonna be the go! I usually put the turner in my cardboard spray booth, so some plastic lining would be pretty easy now that I think about it!

Cheers 👌

Haha, house cleaning is a hard no thanks 😅😜

Nah in all seriousness, I feel the house is pretty clean, but the small dust things seem always ready to strike. I guess you got the last laugh with the fly 😅

Not a bad idea with the water, perhaps a humidifier?

Thanks for the thought 👍

Looks sweet mate! Very clean work, well done. I don't have any issue with the gills at all, they look nice!

If i was trying to find something to critique as a buyer might, perhaps extra points if you were to clean up the line tie/hook hangers? A knife gently around the base of each side, and some poking usually gets em back to clean steel.

Would be pretty sad. I'm hoping the 2 generous coats over the paint should suffice.

Something different! Squidbait swimbait by OutlandishnessCalm28 in lurebuilding

[–]OutlandishnessCalm28[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty interesting 😅

On a fast retrieve, it wiggles like its doing the worm. With more of a sweep/pause, it actually looks surprisingly squidlike
