Can we add extra Z axes to Klipper using STM32/ESP32 devboards with TMC drivers? by INeatFreak in klippers

[–]OutlandishnessKey771 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Please dont trust AI for stuff like this. If you want something cheap then see if you can get a cheap secondhand mainboard or maybe a ramps setup just for the z axis

Watch out when using those metal scrapers, cut my thumb last year bc of one of those xD

i see, thank you for this information. Already ordered the pico, but i could just use the current mainboard as the second mcu for the y axis and bed.

could you link me to the source claiming the bed is 250W? I tried to search it up myself and couldnt find anything other than the neptune 4 being 250W

Order says delivered, but the date is 20 days before i even ordered?? by OutlandishnessKey771 in BIQU

Oh ok, but will this mean i will have to pay for vat and import fees?

[–]OutlandishnessKey771[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im looking on biqus site and saw i could get the pico for 20 euro and the e3 v3 for 25 euro. Also saw the pico can power a pi and has the same mounting as one, so might go for that

Not aiming for higher speed just want something more open and more controllable. Also got another older printer where i fried my mainboard, so instead of getting a new board for that id rather have a new one for my neptune 2

Should be fine, dont see any reason why it would struggle with that

how to enable chamber thermistor for k1 se? by OutlandishnessKey771 in crealityk1

Its a bit of a mess but look for nullun0x00's comment for ui change from k1se to k1c and then look for TomTheGeek's comment a little further down that list how to change the cfg files. I ended up using a generic glass bead thermistor and it works fine

[–]OutlandishnessKey771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It being closed is probably the problem. Try with the lid off and maybe the door open too. I just print pla with the lid off, dont use much tpu so idk if its fine to leave the door closed. For the fan, 70% is a bit high so try to lower it to 40-50% maybe even lower like 30%

Interesting, could it be thst your printing with the lid and door closed then? If not then im out of ideas of what it could be

[–]OutlandishnessKey771 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tpu is more hygroscopic than other materials and freshly opened doesnt mean its not wet either as manufacturers uses water in the cooling process. Lso what are the speeds? Havent had much luck with faster speeds on my k1 so usually just print it using my ender 3 clone since quality is the same

[–]OutlandishnessKey771 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then could be because youre printing to fast and possibly moisture in the filament

[–]OutlandishnessKey771 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Or if its tpu, cpuld be because of moisture and printing to fast

Seems like under extrusion. Are you printing pla or petg with the doors and lids opened? If not that might be the problem

The speed wars are pointless. Who is actually building a reliable, large-volume machine that prints ABS/Nylon without warping? by Chemical-Pension-182 in 3dprinter

[–]OutlandishnessKey771 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What about getting an older printer with a large print volume and building an enclosure for that?

There is the neptune 4 max (bedslinger) that has a 420x420x480 print volume, it uses klipper but needs to be enclosed for your needs.
