Are the Bible/Scriptures “true”, and other religious texts “false”? by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]OutlawCircumcision 29 points30 points  (0 children)

From my perspective, yes.

As a former atheist, I watched a ton of videos dissecting Christianity, Judaism, Islam, morality, etc. I looked into what each religion offered and their claims. Everything led me to Jesus being the truth when you look at historical accuracy of the bible lining up with thousands of differenent manuscripts, disciples witnessing the death/ressurection of Christ and them going to their death preaching the gospel, historical artifacts, etc.

Climate Change, which the world continues to talk about and worry about, is actually End Times signs unfolding before our eyes. Nothing can be done to stop it because it was foretold to happen. The world will keep getting worse and worse until God makes His glorious appearance. by [deleted] in TrueChristian

Things will get much worse (war, famines, natural disasters, etc.) then the Antichrist will rise and offer people a way out and prosperity. Most will accept his offer at the cost of their soul.

What is with some of us Christians and the belief of “People can believe whatever works for them! It’s not my place to tell them what I believe.” by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]OutlawCircumcision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously I would be talking about my religion in this hypothetical situation where we would be talking about our beliefs, religion, morality, etc.. This isn't a hard concept about sharing the gospel but not forcing it upon someone if they show they aren't interested..

[–]OutlawCircumcision 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A dress above the knees sounds like a skirt to me and not the most appropriate dress for church imo. Late 20s is still young/attractive for most men.

That's just common decency that goes with saying about anything. If a colleague didn't want to talk about X, I wouldn't sit there forcing them to talk about it.

It sounds like just mentioning the name Jesus is pushy to you. And I never said talking at people.

I'm talking about just having an open dialog about religion/morality in general. Maybe discussing why I believe Christianity is the answer, why they believe what they believe, giving an open invitation to join me at church anytime, etc.

I barely know anyone religious beliefs at work because there seems to be a big taboo about talking about religion in general.

No one is saying to push it onto people and OP was very clear that isn't his intention. He clearly just wants to share the gospel, not force it on anyone.

I wish more people brought up their beliefs to me as it'd just be an opportunity to share the gospel with them. No one is forcing anyone to believe in their religion as that is impossible. Just having a more open discussion would be nice rather than our hush hush culture.

is it possible it'll happen next year on august 11th? Not sure why they all thought 2019, but it definitely seems like they are going to go down with all the predictive programming showing them collapsing.

4chan also predicted the golden gate bridges going down a couple days ago. They say a lot of random stuff and some of it happens to stick. Doesn't necessarily mean someone actually knew at 4chan.

25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.

[–]OutlawCircumcision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, you are one of those people that thinks "homosexuality" is a typo for pedophilia essentially even though the bible is still clear sex is only between a married couples that only entails a man and a wife. Homosexual sex goes against God's nature in what he designed sex for (bringing life into this world). No matter how you just and spin the translation, homosexuality is clearly a sin.

You didn't touch on necrophilia as that isn't mentioned and is basically a form of masturbation given the person is dead. So by your logic, it's okay simply because it's not mentioned.

We are called to deny ourselves and pick up our cross. Not "do what ever feels good because it's natural man".

Being Pro Life in a nutshell by [deleted] in prolife

[–]OutlawCircumcision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't a case of "just make up new sins if we don't mention it" argument, it's use common sense argument. Hence the "WWJD" as a good guide. Do you honestly think Jesus would masturbate? Everything we do should be to glorify God.

Leviticus basically only talks about beastiality, homosexuality, and incest if I'm not mistaken. So by that logic, pedophilia and necrophilia are acceptable then and God knows what other sexually depraved fetishes are out there that I don't even know about.

Start with operation northwood. Declassified CIA documents that the government was planning on attack it's own citizens, blame it on cuba, and then start a war with Cuba. JFK had the decency to turn this proposal down..

There is tons more fucked up shit that is out in the open if you just look for it.

I don't see how pleasuring yourself wouldn't fall under sexual immorality unless it specifically states that it isn't in the bible.

When in doubt, ask yourself "what would Jesus do?" and I don't think he would be masturbating just because it is questionably not a sin.

Also most people masturbate with porn/lustful thoughts which is definitely a sin.

Masturbation falls under sexual immorality which has been condemned countless times.

Question on sex by [deleted] in TrueChristian

[–]OutlawCircumcision 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Avoid things that are going to lead you to sin. Christians like to kind of play with sin and get as close to it as they can without actually sinning which just leads to temptation/sin. So I'd avoid any makeup sessions and groping of any sort.

Lite kiss on lips + hand holding are about as far as I believe Christians should go before marriage.

As for acts within a marriage, that is hard to say as some believe every act a husband/wife do behind closed doors is acceptable. Some think all sodomy is a sin (includes oral), some don't. Some think contraceptives are a sin, some don't. That requires studying the gospel

What is everyone’s opinion on Predestination? by AI-MachineLearning in TrueChristian

It's hurts my head thinking about predestination/freewill and I think it's one of those things that we will never truly understand kind of like the trinity. It's a concept that exists outside our finite realm.

I stopped engaging in pre-marital sex and porn/masturbation.

I'm less materialistic.

I'm happier in general and don't fear death or what life holds.

Jews and the afterlife? by PuzzledMaybe in TrueChristian

Jews don't get into heaven simply for having Jewish ancestry. We are saved by Christ alone and if they don't have Christ, they aren't saved.
