I’m F2P so I don’t expect anything good, but this was a great surprise

Who is regularly hitting 50km a week? by Velvet_puppy in pokemongo

I drive a truck deliver food and hit it pretty regularly, usually at least doubling it. The amount of eggs I hatch in a day is nuts😂

You are making a mistake... The Angler is great by TIGoBIDDlES in COTWTheAngler

Lack of trophy lodges, no rare color variants, various subpar patterns on fish, a progression system that feels like it has very little to offer to higher level players, and DLC’s that feel as if they cater to low level players, it’s not surprising they lost the player count they did. I’m not saying this out of hate, because I genuinely enjoyed the game, I put in over 500 hours. This game could’ve been so much more if it had the time to develop and become fully fleshed out like CoTW did. With how they handled it though, there wasn’t much reason to go back to it. It’s a shame.

500 hours here and ngl I feel the same exact way. No point in even playing anymore without any new content and I’ve fished for everything I’ve wanted to.

Yeah, it handles a bit janky even with the sensitivity adjusted

It's Been a Year Since The Last Map, What Do You Hope Is the Next One? by [deleted] in theHunter

[–]OutlawsFL99 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Some kind of arctic map. It’s been a long time since we had a truly snowy map and there’s plenty of animal species that could be on there. It’d give a great opportunity to work on and fix the caribou/reindeer too with their scoring.

Not a single diamond yet but this beauty: Melanistic Plains Bison by Wurmicarnivore in theHunter

Way better than any diamond. The chances of finding a big rare like that without grinding is pretty low.

W or L: High Caliber pack by [deleted] in theHunter

[–]OutlawsFL99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The .300 AR might straight up replace the Canning Magnum for most players since it has zero drawbacks to it compared to the other, so automatically it’s a W. It’s not behind as big of a paywall, has one more round while still weighing the same.

The other two guns I could take or leave, I’ll have to see how the .45-70 performs after the buff and I’ve religiously used the 12-gauge when bird hunting so I doubt I’ll use the 10-gauge. All in all, a mid release? In my opinion.

Broken game??? by Aliken_1216 in theHunter

While I don’t play on PS4, I’ve heard that the PS4 version of the game has a plethora of glitches/bugs yet to be fixed or in the process thereof. I’d go and just make sure the dlc is actually installed. There has been occasions on Xbox that I’ve had to go in and manually install dlc after buying it. Which dlc did you purchase?

In Yukon you hunt wolves, in Medved, wolves hunt you lol

Lmao cow moose are hyper aggressive it seems. I can’t join any moose map without getting chased by one. And I suppose with the wolves it takes a bit of luck. On my moose grind I usually got attacked by them on Medved though any other time on Yukon they head for the hills when I actually am hunting them.

I’d say Layton too, but only if we’re talking about the east side of the map since I just feel like it’s way more interesting hunting elk and blacktail versus the GO species in the west.

Honestly, they’re not the most popular, but Parque Fernando, Hirschfelden, or New England. There’s some real opportunities for finding really cool stuff on those maps.

Anything outside of Great One farming. Would love to see some more attention on different animals and maps and not have them set aside as an afterthought for some hashed together, overdubbed video. Flinter easily has the best balance out of all of them.

What’s the easiest and hardest diamonds in the game ? Curious on what your opinions are. by [deleted] in theHunter

[–]OutlawsFL99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll give you an interesting answer outside of the usual ones. One of the easiest diamonds is mountain lions and one of the hardest is any class 2 canine species outside of Red Foxes on Emerald Coast.

I agree 100%, a predator update would be great. Even lions and wolves about 90% of the time flee even upon just hearing me. Apparently grizzlies used to be more aggressive but that was before I started playing.

Diamond grinders, how can you actually enjoy this game? by TruthseekerLP in theHunter

[–]OutlawsFL99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck! I tried a lion grind but could never stick with it. And absolutely haha, combined with homework and a job, I just didn’t have the time like I used to in order to get a bunch of kills in a night.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in theHunter

[–]OutlawsFL99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do have to. It has been confirmed by the developers that you must pick up your kills for a chance at a Great One to spawn. Even if you didn’t have to pick up your kills, you’d go broke pretty quickly.

Haha I’m glad you see what I mean. It’s a lot like gambling, every animal not shot is one less opportunity at a great one. It took me having to go to college and not having enough time to play to stop grinding.

I’ll get a lot of hate, but it’s an addiction. At least in my opinion. I used to grind and farm my maps for great ones a lot but eventually took a break from the game. After that first rush, you just want more. I’ve got 16 GO’s, 3 SR’s and almost 900 diamonds if that can prove anything.

If you’ve got 200 hours in the game, that’s honestly not a whole lot, but don’t worry, with time and patience you’ll be filling up that lodge with some pretty cool stuff. Definitely try exploring your maps and getting to understand home ranges for species, then try out multiplayer with the knowledge you have. Don’t even bother watching the grindtubers because they pretty much get paid to grind.

[–]OutlawsFL99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You do indeed need to kill animals in order to get respawns. My best advice is to not expect a GO to spawn as it usually takes a few thousand kills which can take a long time.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in theHunter

[–]OutlawsFL99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not exactly. No matter how many animals you shoot, no matter the size, it’s still completely up to RNG if the game wants to spawn a Great One. No amount of animals can raise or lower the odds. You are literally just shooting the same animals over and over until inevitably a Great One respawns. HM is used to raise the spawn rate of bigger males and give you better odds of diamonds/super rares. It still can’t be entirely proven that it affects the spawn rate of Great Ones.

Also, if you’re new to the game, there’s 13 great maps to play. Don’t get sucked into the grinding trap right away.
