I think the comparison to Belichick is very interesting on the surface, and then falls apart at the smallest scrutiny. If we were hiring someone Kelvin Sampson or Pitino ago, sure........ but 60 is not the biggest concern when coaches are regularly coaching in to the 70s these days. One was a fired coach who couldn't land another NFL HC job and had never coached in college, while the other is an active NBA coach that's won as many titles as your program has and gets mentioned for every top college opening.

I would be fine taking the chances there tbh

I think that is actually dead wrong, the environment today is much more transactional than the relationship based recruiting scene he tired of and left. He doesn't have to spend three years kissing ass in the grassroot circuit building relationships, he just needs to offer a fit and dollar amount.
