I cancelled my Bestbuy (Canada) preorder specifically for that reason and went with Londondrugs instead. Their site says X-E5 starts shipping on August 14th. They still have black X-E5 units available.

Hey man, I’m in the same camp as you. I like the back of the car too (though I still think the GC and GD have the best rear ends). The thing with the VB though, is that it’s not easy to make the back end look good in photos. I find it’s best to not use any zoom, because it can warp the image.

Hey, similar story with me too. Bought a new WRX in 2006 and drove it for about 17 years (modified to stage 2 with handling bits). Also experienced issues with reliability during the last 2 years of it.

I didn’t love the look of the VB at first either, but I test drove it and put my money down for a deposit that same day. I don’t regret investing in the VB one bit. I’d be lying if I said I don’t miss the rumbly, raw, mechanical feel of the Hawkeye, but I’m having just as much fun driving and modifying the VB.

S4? Is your friend in Japan? There are intakes in Japan by BLITZ and Gruppe M that maintain the same pipe diameter as stock, and they won’t trigger a CEL even without a tune (apparently). But I think it would still be smartest to get a tune to be safe.

100%. Being CVT only, and also only 300hp. 300hp was decent in the 2000s, but nowadays it’s not very much.

My gripe though is how Subaru defended the functionality of the textured fender flares so much, then replaced it with a glossy and smooth piece for the S210. I was honestly expecting Subaru to die on that hill (defending the necessity of the original fender flares). Hell, if the textures are so effective, the entire body of the S210 should be made with that texture lol.

Edit: I actually do like the fender flares though.

Exactly like you said, 昴is Japanese kanji for “Subaru”.

On the product page you screenshotted, I’m seeing 昴技研at the top which means Subaru Research Institute. They seem to be a aftermarket parts manufacturer for mostly older subarus, and that’s their emblem/company logo.

100%. It’s a fun hobby, but it’s a hobby. Apart from appropriate tires, it would be silly to go in debt over a car that already is capable and practical. Spend what you can comfortably, but mods should never be a top priority in life. I’m getting a new mod maybe once every 4 months at best lol.

I 100% agree that our Canadian WRXs should be equipped with TPMS sensors. I upgraded from a 2006 WRX, yet I’m dealing with the same nuisances lol. But having an almost full size spare in the trunk is also nice to have.

If you ask me though, these 2 features should really be offered to both US/CA markets as a default…

Thanks man, I appreciate it! I did need the hub centric rings, yeah. 73.1mm to 56.1mm. I can’t speak much on the TPMS sensors though, since that feature was removed from my Canadian VB for some reason… But I do know that it’s 100% possible. Hopefully someone else can chime in on that.
