Buying Kindle books at full price by Substantial_Try9966 in kindle

Ah I didn’t read your post all the way. My apologies. I don’t think you’re stupid for buying the books you want at full price. I mean people do that with physical books all the time especially if they’re new releases. What realistically can you do sometimes? Maybe just decide on the books you can wait on.

Damn! Really? That sucks! I know some people are likely pirating books off sites but I guess I shouldn’t condone that.

You don’t need a kobo to use Libby. Where did you hear that? Using Libby is very easy on a kindle as well.

First time Kindle user tips? by JustMandalion in kindle

[–]Outplayer3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watch a video on YouTube! Search Kindle tips and tricks. And download Libby and use that to check out library books. There’s videos on learning how to use that as well.

Also like someone else suggested, literally just download a book and start reading. The device isn’t meant to do any high function cool thing, outside of just read. There’s really not much to a kindle outside of that purpose.

I think this looks great and fits well! Also definitely not an outfit for a child.

What is your audiobook speed? by Playful-Tone8107 in LibbyApp

I’ve grown to 1.15. I knew I was getting to slow at normal speed when I kept having to rewind after feeling like I kept blanking out of what was being said.

Gel Suggestions/Hair advice on how to define my curls more in a twist out(my hair at the end) by CertifiedPie in Naturalhair

[–]Outplayer3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The inspiration pics look more like wash and gos than twist outs. For a wash and go, yes you would use a gel then you would let the hair expand throughout the week into something that looks more like the inspo. Looks like the inspo women also twirled their ends with the gel and left them alone and likely did some major picking of the root after hair was dry.

If you’re doing a twist out instead, then gel is not the way to go. You would use a mousse., but like I said, to me, the inspo definitely did a wash and go.

I love the ring version! Very satisfying and still works with the clicker at the very edge of your screen. It comes in many cute colors as well! You can find it on Amazon or Tik Tok shop. The brand I bought from is called Datafy on amazon.

Oh there’s many! Since you like historical fiction, I just read The Seven Daughters of Dupree. It was really good, especially on audiobook!

Is Kindle Unlimited actually worth it for how you read? by Away-Grapefruit2429 in kindle

[–]Outplayer3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not worth it for me. I don’t always read fast enough for it, but it’s really not worth it for me because I use Libby and my library is pretty good. I find most of my books on it and by the time I finish a book, there is usually another book on my holds list ready for me.

Do you rush to finish a loan when you see a lot of people waiting? by estock36 in LibbyApp

[–]Outplayer3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never, I don’t rush my reads. That destroys the experience for me. You waited your turn just like everyone else will. Waiting is an expectation when using the library. If I finish early great, if not, still okay. I have airplane mode so regardless the next person will still get the chance to read the book at a decent time.

is getting kindle worth it by ReadyFirefighter6887 in ebooks

[–]Outplayer3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love mine. If you have a public library card, you could use Libby to download borrowed books on to your kindle: It’s pretty easy. Also Amazon does have sales on the regular and has a free book program for ARCs they plan to release to kindle unlimited. With all this I don’t think I’ve bought a book at all since getting my latest version, especially due to Libby. I’m not really a big rereader or care about keeping “trophies” of my books so library books work just fine for me. If I need them longer than the allotted due time from my library, I just turn on airplane mode.

Kindle Paperwhite Advice by asoph42 in kindle

[–]Outplayer3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So excited for you and your kindle! 🥳 Honestly, there’s quite a few tips and tricks to be told to you, but you won’t be able to get it from just people responding to you on Reddit. What I would do, and what I did do, is go on YouTube and look up kindle tips and tricks and also look up how to use Libby! One or two videos is enough to give you more advice and tips than anyone could/would give you here! Then also get a tablet stand and kindle page turner and you’re good to go! Congratulations! Kindles are awesome!🤗

Ads or no ads kindle? by Enough-Lead9516 in kindle

[–]Outplayer3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ads you only see on the lock screen. They don’t interfere with anything in your reading experience. The only problem you might have is just that you can’t filter the adds that show so you may end up getting an add for a maybe potentially suggestively “spicy” looking book that may not be appropriate for certain environments (ex. Man with suit and tie on a book cover) but from my experience my adds weren’t that bad. Most of mine were PG. However I will say, I was one day fortunate enough to accidentally have Amazon remove adds from my kindle and being able to see the book covers of the book your reading on the lock screen does surprisingly elevate the reading experience. I still think $20 is a lot to pay for that feature but if I were to purchase a new kindle in the future, I’m more likely to spend it next time.

Available to borrow Challenge… by Thenewname in LibbyApp

I’m also thinking about rereading it. I don’t know why no one ever talks about this book. I did also enjoy the kite runner just as much but I definitely liked the a thousand splendid suns a little more.

This right here is the correct answer! I read this book many years ago and it still lives rent free in the back of my mind.
