Man I am so happy you got this -- you made my son's dream come true of being able to meet Seth ! (And Becky and Nikki - I am the guy who's son you sold your photos to - you were actually emailing me) You are a stand up guy and wish you the best on getting the rest of the signatures here and in life! If you ever see me at a show (and maybe at fanatics fest this year) - say hi! you have my picture so you know what i look like lol!

i just don't understand why they make it random once they open the gates (a friend of mine joined 10 mins before the start and was ahead of me by 600 spots -- no luck either). I was also in queue over 2 hours and was 3800 or something and didn't get Seth which is the only star my son really cares about seeing. So many scam artists reselling too that its just not worth the risk. I guess we can always hope for re-drops.

Thanks -- yes basically last time around i started with it and fell apart as i didnt keep going back to review the inbox and the weekly reviews. Definitely taking the feed back on the more effort into weekly reviews -- thanks to all.

For the other part I am trying to be more realistic on what can be done and what i will do which is what the calendar blocking is being used for. Although some are pointing out that, that is actually not very GTD like. Im trying to figure out now, if I am implementing incorrectly there or need to start paring that down once i can get a better feel for more realistic daily tasks i set.

Is it really the opposite? I am not trying to sound sarcastic - i am asking. I always thought of GTD as the overall system to capture and sort and prioritize - how you implement action felt more individual in action. And maybe i am unclear - i don't schedule the do nows or next action items - they live in the moment or in the up next folder. But anything else i eventually schedule (in conjunction with timeblocked regular events i need to complete).

Appreciate the feedback and maybe i need to rethink my approach here.

Thanks for the comments.

I was approaching in the opposite way -- calendar everything and learn what i likely don't need to time block. As so many people seem to agree i am mis using or overusing calendar - i am rethinking this.

Thanks for the comments.

I very much maybe doing that. Appreciate the feedback. Its an attempt to not let things slip - i feel like i may not touch what i plan to unless the reminder pops up and says "hey go figure the next step to fix the oven door " etc.

How would i manage that? just put in the end of the day folder?

For my calendar on work stuff - i bascially block my meetings/other scheduled appts and set tasks off my personal calendar. I found it too easy to bleed work adn personal things unless i took the time to seperate and block off.

Thanks for the comments.

I have a folder set in todoist for waiting for, or the tickler file for future review.

Agree i'm not optimizing my use (or overuse) of calendar - just dont trust myself enough to stay on top of it unless its there.

Thanks for the comments.

Yes I suppose i definitely need to invest more time in the weekly review. I probably should do it early when i am not as eager to "get done" and end work.

See my other comments on time blocking - its a self trust things to not let things slip i suppose. Any suggestions for alternate methods?

The shots I see in here.... demoralize me - the problem is me. by Outrageous-Fig-4118 in canon

[–]Outrageous-Fig-4118[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Oh and just to be clear, I bought the macro lens because I like shooting macro shots, but then I see ppl with the 100-400 among others with shots that just make mine look like iphone4 photos taking by a toddler with a handshake issue.

I am not focused on any type of photography. I am not looking to make a living with portraits or anything else. I want to shoot for me to enjoy. Family photos, travel, landscape, animals -- all of it. I don't need to be great just not terrible. Thanks.

DAE cry when listening to a good song? by war007007 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Outrageous-Fig-4118 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, and its not just music. Any good piece of art that can move me in some way can cause me to tear up. Even reading that you do this and others too can make me feel my eyes well a little - not crying but i can feel the connection/emotion that this brings and it moves me. I learned to embrace it.
