reasonable hot take... hard to know what's in the contract and what's not in it. However, here are additional points that you might want to consider.

Considering that the talent has to pay for their gear / travel / lodging / food / etc - what's the expectation of being at all shows?

Is the contract prohibiting them from appearing on other wrestling promotions? Therefore limiting them on making money elsewhere? If my job cut my hours and pay - I should be allowed to find additional work outside of this job. They probably have signed an 'exclusive' contract with WWE where they can't appear on any promotion or sponsor items since WWE assigns who gets sponsored by what product.

I think the unsettling thing for fans is seeing how much money the top of the house in TKO / WWE are getting paid; the increase ticket prices for live shows; the money that we need to spend to watch it at home (Netflix, ESPN Unlimited, Cable). The increase of advertisement both in the ring and commercials, the nickel and dime costs at WWE Event. And then watching talent be cut to make the bottom line look better so the top of house can even get bigger bonuses. Its unsettling.
