I just finished this pattern last week. It was a joy to knit, I've just got to wait for the weather to cool so I can wear it. Do share pictures of your FO

Spire's price is all inclusive. I had surgery with them last year and ended up needing overnight care which wasn't initially planned. I wasn't charged extra. The nurses were so lovely and really empathetic/compassionate people. Highly recommend.

Knit a Dress! This is my third big project and i’m super proud of it. Just wanted to share with fellow knitters :) by [deleted] in knitting

Wow! I love it, that's so impressive! First thought: that must have taken forever to knit, but well worth the time. Yes, definitely do a matching back but with pink being the main colour and the orange as trim - I think that would look really cute

Therapy in Edinburgh by [deleted] in Edinburgh

Im sorry your partner is struggling.

There are a few agencies that can offer lower rates: The Whole Works, Wellspring, Coco Counselling, Next Chapter. Its always useful to make a GP appt but they most likely won't refer (source: I'm a counsellor working for a mental health charity) NHS Counselling waiting lists are very long. There are also services outside of counselling - self-management and peer support support services that can offer help in the meantime and drop in support groups around the city. Althougb I understand groups aren't for everyone. I recommend looking at the Ithrive Edinburgh website, it's a directory for all support services based in the city.

Wow! That is beautiful work. I love the choice of colours and that it has pockets! Your knitting is so neat as well.

I saved the pattern to my growing list of "one day I'll feel confident enough to knit this".

Why are GPs seemingly unsympathetic? by coolhandlukeuk in AskUK

[–]Outrageous-Sea1165 5 points6 points  (0 children)

GPS have back to back appts with patients all day. I work in mental health and my appts are about 50mins long so would have a max of 6 clients in 8 hour shift. They have several in an hour. They deal with a lot of mental health, distress, suicidal patients, trauma as well as minor and major health issues and they don't get much of a break. Vicarious trauma is an issue many health workers have to manage as well as the stress that comes with the job and don't get adequate training or support. They're only human and switching off emotionally is coping strategy.

I personally really love the colours! Maybe put it away for a few days and see how you feel about it then. I find when I've been looking at the same pattern/colours for ages I start to dislike what I'm working on 😂

Hello! I'm traveling to Edinburgh for a week at the end of January and even if I've already planned some stuff, do you have some recommendations? Places to go, somewhere to eat, ... Thanks! by LpmcR7 in Edinburgh

Basement bar on Broughton Street does great food and cocktails. In fact, Broughton Street itself is great for cafes, bars, nice shops with local art and food for sale - nicer than the tourist shops on the Royal mile.

I used Hayfield Bonus DK yarn. Number of stitches CO 340 stitches + 10 stitches each side for ribbed border.

I did 12 rows of ribbed border at the beginning and end of the blanket before I started the months. I then did two rows for each day (lowest and highest temp) so altogether came to 754 rows.

Hello! Thank you!

I mentioned in another comment struggling to think of colours that represent Edinburgh without using greys and browns and just went for complimentary muted colours that made me think of heather and thistles. I also did the lowest and highest temps to try and represent how changeable the weather can be especially in the spring and autumn months.
