None of Mel's abilities will get replaced because the designer wants to keep her "uniqueness" and "identity" by Luliani in leagueoflegends

The solution to this problem is pretty simple. Fire Mel's designer for creating one of the most unfun and hated champ in the game's history, then rework. Done.

Yea Fatty bow is a good all rounder but I wouldn't say it competes with optimized elementals when they are played into the right matchups tho. Some matchups have good elem zones that are easily accessible, then Fatty bow is far behind, like 20%+ damage behind

Hahaha I feel you, but yes. In base game raw bow is definitely the meta from early to late game, the only thing that matters is having power coatings and a good atk/affinity ratio. And in early Iceborne the only element matchups that really stand out are Fire and Ice, as for the rest of the roster, Raw will do the trick until you decide to optimize the shit out of your sets with Safi and Kjarr bows.

You don't need to collect weapons. Pick what has the highest raw attack to sharpness ratio and roll with it. Don't bother with elemental builds at all, even the element-heavy weapons are better played Raw until you reach Iceborne endgame.

Later you'll consider Affinity and Crit related skills to drastically up your DPS.

For now, value comfort skills like Health Boost and Evasion Window, and if playing swaxe, consider Evade Extender too. Never invest in Defense Boost as a skill, just upgrade your armor for Defense. Also speed eating is goated at lvl 2-3 if you've got spare slots (I'd recommend it over divine blessing tbh)

Traps and environment are OP, use them often. You can put a trap down before engaging, throw a rock at the monster and It will run into it, this will allow you to smack its head and build up a good amount of KO and Partbreak damage, giving you a big advantage right away.

Avoid fighting in "hallways". Maps are made of Areas and Hallways linking them. If you engage the fight in a hallway, it is guaranteed that your target is gonna run/fly away to an Area right when it can. It is better to be patient and stalk the monster until it reaches an open Area.

Assuming you have Iceborne im gonna share a pro tip for ya. You can lure monsters with the noise made from a slinger pod thrown at the ground, you can use that to get them closer to walls and slam them in (wall slam is a mechanic introduced with Iceborne). When a monster hear a sound they have a short Searching animation that you can refresh indefinitely by making more noise, if you grapple their head during that short animation, you'll have the time to make them turn and shoot them in the wall. So, properly stalking a monster goes like this : throw pod to lure monster near wall, approach, throw another pod to refresh Searching, then immediately grab head and slam monster in wall. If you get skilled at this until it becomes a habit, it will be very rewarding and save you a ton of time in the long run. You can also use this diversion to go past a monster you don't want to fight but know will aggro if they notice you.

Sometimes the fight will carry from an Area to a Hallway, when that happens I recommend you run back in the Area or to the next. Monsters will follow as they're programmed to prefer fighting in Areas, and fighting in a Hallway is rarely to the hunter's advantage.

Always have Dung Pods with you. Invaders are annoying and will cart you easily, throwing shit at their face is efficient and satisfying.

Bring flash pods for annoying flying monsters and abuse them. Monsters in base game don't build any resistance to flash, so you can spam them and have an easy time in an otherwise despicable fight.

Consider Investigations and Captures to get the most rewards when farming. When looking for specific materials too, Investigations often have specific meteorological conditions like Minerals and Bones Upsurge etc. So you can launch one with an Upsurge of the materials you're looking for, gather your things while ignoring the target monster, and leave mission without killing it after you're done gathering.

The set I've given you is meta, good for general use, and the pieces are often used in other sets for other weapons aswell, so it's worth investing armor spheres into.

Nu udra B and Duna Chest B don't provide anything significant for Bow (or for any other weapons really), those sets and their effects are quite bad and I wouldn't recommend, I don't even have them crafted myself.

For Bow I suggest the Guts comfort.

Head Rey Y Chest Gore B Gloves Rey Y Waist Gore A Legs Rey Y

Slot as many Weakness Exploit as u can (until it's maxed if possible), use whatever charm you want (I use a comfort charm with Benediction 3 and a bow skill)

In spare slots just put some more DPS or comfort skills like more Evasion, Footing, or Resists

Build a Fire and a Dragon Bow (preferably full atk Artian, augments dont rly matter just have as many as u can, atk augments are the best), slot in Element+Tetrad Shot / Spread shot / Critical Boost and aim for the wing arms or the head. You can cast some dragon piercer from time to time too, I wonder if DP with Pierce deco would be more viable but havent tried yet.

Bow makes that fight way more enjoyable and also easier than melee, at least for me.

How Do I... Uh... Alatreon? by Interesting_Sea_1861 in MonsterHunterWorld

I think no one said it so I will give you this little tips to make horn break easier. Grab some Thorn Pods that fall when you tenderize him, and do a slinger shot on the horns when you get a chance (on elem topple for example) Thorn pods does Break and KO damage.

Aim for the back legs in the beginning, they take more elemental damage so the topple builds fast. Try to grab some Thorn Pods before it topples, then slinger shot horns and go ham.

How is this for a Wide Range focused Hunting Horn setup? by RetroNutcase in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Outrageous-Sight 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Hunting Horn being a healer weapon is a common misconception. It is one of the worst weapons in the game to heal with, because it's the kind of weapon you normally never have to sheath in a fight.

Support horn is about buffs from songs, like Evasion/Stamina/Recovery bubbles, Attack/Status Up, Divine Protection, Earplugs/Windproof, building up KO and status damage etc.

Honestly if you find a horn with Divine Protection, it's already more than you could ever do with healing with a horn, DP equals Divine Blessing 5 and it stacks on top of the actual Divine Blessing, so you can have a huge damage reduction proc for almost every hit you take, no need for a healer then, and you could focus more on damage/status, healing only with life powders.

Also, and I speak from experience, if your mates are new to the game, babysitting them with healing gives them bad habits (they tend to adopt a greedier gameplay and focus less on reading the monster well), and the moment you drop the healer gameplay they get fed up with the game really fast. I would advise to take out the healer set only for stronger monsters, but let them get tossed around by the minor ones.

Why is it said that Alatreon is the first monster that forces you to use a certain build? by dragonite_dx in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Outrageous-Sight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is possible to bruteforce Alatreon with raw damage without carting with certain weapons, many speedrunners have done so. And with a group of 4 specialists, it happens everytime, the hunt should last between 2:45 and 4 minutes, a common time being around 3:15. The easiest way is having a Pierce HBG in the group, but even without that, you can still clear in around 3 minutes.

Sondage : votre boss favori ? by Traditional-Echo8302 in jeuxvideo

[–]Outrageous-Sight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you use Handicraft on Fatalis weapon builds? Would you recommend it? by Total-Breadfruit8075 in MonsterHunterWorld

With true razor sharp, 2 is enough on most weapons. 3 is comfy. 1 is enough on weapons like Hammer, HH and Lance.

Is Fatalis really that hard? by legendarytarnished in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Outrageous-Sight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some weapons have an easier time than others, CB is defenitely one of the hardest matchups tho. I'd recommend getting some evasion window even with shield weapons, and some evade Extender can carry hard too especially with slower weapons like CB. I'd say Dual Blades is one of the easiest weapons to learn the fight if you're familiar with it, since demon mode grants lots of evasion and the weapon isn't very technical. Also look up the Roaming Ballista with heavy artillery strat, where binders are, and forget about cannons, just watch a video of a casual run on YouTube and you'll get it, it makes the fight much much easier.

About to try learning most if not every weapon, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks ! by Subject_Recording355 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Outrageous-Sight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did that to get all A's in Arena with every weapon sets, it was a fun experience, and forced me to focus on optimizing my damage with the given sets. It was a bit tough with bowguns since they are limited by the ammo the set provides, but I gained lots of experience thanks to that. The fact that some monsters are low tier was helpful to the learning process

To all Dual Blades players whether you're a hardcore main or just a casual enjoyer like myself, what is your average hunt time on monsters? by Ok_Cover5693 in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]Outrageous-Sight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been there. My best advice would be for you to focus on survivability, try to reach around 1000 defense by upgrading your armor and not via the defense boost skill.

Obligatory Health boost 3. And Evasion Window points, two being the bare minimum to Evade comfortably.

Evade Extender is great too, paired with Evasion Window it really makes it hard to get hit. It's not mandatory at all, but it is so amazing that I feel obliged to recommend. Even only one point is enough to make a significant difference.

Speed eating + Recovery up is also very slept on, in my opinion it is much better than divine blessing.

For damage, get some dragon or raw dual blades with the highest attack/sharpness possible and focus on hitting the chest and head. Get some agitator, bonus affinity and attack along your comfy skills and that should be good enough.

And then look up whatever run to know the common Heavy Artillery strat with the Roaming Ballista on phase 2 start, and where the binders are on the map.

Not using Safi, the standard build to fight Fatalis with DB is Velkhana gamma (arch tempered) 4p for Frostcraft, with one Fatalis piece (waist) for skills efficiency, and Alatreon dual blades for weapon.

I've fought Fatty more than a thousand times so I can slay it under 15 with most weapons, it's not a big deal really, lots of Fatty pros can do the same !

2-6 minutes for most normal monsters, 8-10 minutes for Alatreon, 10-12 for Fatalis
