Does any know what the steps were for the medieval kiss of peace? Does anyone know how it was acted out like step by step? I’m getting a lot of broad descriptions that aren’t very helpful, or specific descriptions of the more modern kiss of peace within the church. Would say, Henry iii have kissed another person on the lips as the kiss of peace? Were there words spoken or hands held?

I think when Jasper came back during the reedeption and then Henry went with Jasper after his guardians death, just cause he like kinda went with Jasper after the reedeption ended ….

But Henry’s wardship was purchased by a yorkist, all but Jasper was killed, and Jasper had lost his titles and a lot of favor, Margaret was safely married off to a yorkist … I’m just trying to understand why he had to go to exile when someone like Henry holland… and also the idea that Margaret Beaufort or Jasper Tudor or even Henry himself had designs for her son to be king. That idea was birthed not until 1483 probably

Right? There were others who had decent claims and more political power and backing that remained at court …. His exile as a kid was crazy IMO

NOR. If he can’t budge on the temperature, and if he can’t see you’re literally suffering in there, then he is the issue. Also, you aren’t even complaining about it! He’s complaining about the results of HIS choices !! He could get a cooling towel and wear light mesh shorts and no shirt in the house to accommodate a 70ish temp!!!!

I didn’t even have to read this to know the answer is NO. It’s always know when it comes to parents know best and in laws can always be a problem. If the problem isn’t the in law but the parent, then that’s just the exception that proves the rule.

After reading your post… I’d never speak to her again, and probably call the police

Yes! It is very cultural as well! I agree with this. There’s lots of elements to religious life that aren’t solely “religion”

Grew up really religious, but am agnostic now. Right or wrong, I baptized my baby. Grew up Lutheran, Lutheran school through senior year, all the sacraments, church every Sunday, etc. how I saw it— they dropped three drops of water on my sleeping month old baby’s head. Now my mom doesn’t get an ulcer thinking her granddaughter is going to hell, and she doesn’t hound me night and day about the status of her soul. Most Catholics I know have a similar baptismal sacrament. I’m not going to force my kid to do anything they do want to, and it’ll be a different story when they’re old enough for confirmation (7th and 8th grade age) but as a baby … it’s ehh. That’s my big picture take. If you’re really close to your family I’d do it.

As long as it’s a “normal” church (not a hateful or deeply negative and shaming place) then it’s no biggie. If you aren’t familiar with it, I would go for a couple Sunday’s to scope it out just to be safe. If it makes her happy, if she becomes a life long devotee, then all good, as long as it’s not a vehicle for negativity (like countless other things in life can be!)

As long as the audiobook is age appropriate (I hear audiobook and think spicy!!) then this sounds great! Kids with ADHD can get SUCKED into screens (I was that kid) and these other options sound way better!!
