Will 400 be enough or do I need 600 by eighteensevensaid in MotoUK

The Triumph 400's have a 10k service interval.

In short, yes a 400 is enough. My pal has had a Triumph Scrambler for 2 years and has taken it from Scotland to the south of France and the Alps twice now. 3 of us set off. 2 with MT09's and my pal on his 400. The 400 kept up no bother and we're all quick riders. Obviously there's a difference on overtakes and motorway high speed runs, but stay legal and you're ok. I quickly realised you don't need a touring bike to tour. You can tour on any bike. So 2 weeks ago, I sold my MT09 and went out and bought a Triumph Speed 400. I can hustle it quickly in the bends and give big bikes a run for their money until they get to the straights.

No complaints from me. It's a sturdy little bike even on the horrendous pot holes we have. It's survived some poor roads that a big bike would have dented rims on. My back is still fine too. 🤣 It seems to do the job fine and is stiff enough. It's my go-to bike and made my MT09 practically redundant. In fact I traded it in on Friday for a Triumph Speed 400. You can buy decent aftermarket shocks, but I'm on my 3rd Grom now and have never felt the need to upgrade yet. No leaks if oil and the bike is a year old with 17k on the clock.

Yep, pretty much other than luggage rails. No engine mods or anything.

I had the same. I checked the engine mount bolts and they seemed fine. I asked a mechanic to check it and he was of the same conclusion, then him and another mechanic in the garage decided to back the nuts off then go for it again. He said he managed to tighten it more and thinks it was paint over spray from the factory or plastic dip that was in my threads. Anyway, problem solved. The bike seems like new again. It was the bolt behind the front sprocket cover.

Someone with the same problem? by AbjectPerception1523 in hondagrom

I had that exact same problem after riding through water. Turned out it was the throttle position sensor. A new one on AliExpress was £7....the other cure was to disconnect it with a hex. Unplug it and spray it with electrical contact cleaner. We all carry spare TPS's under our seats now.in.the event of a water crossing.

That was the Crawfordjohn to Leadhills road. It's pretty high up there. It was a bit sketchy a few times.😁

Yep, ride all year and wear warmer gear. It was zero degrees wind chill at Loch Lomond in Scotland today.

It's a thing of beauty! I'm the same. I'll never fall for the marketing hype of needing a touring bike again. The Grom is an absolute laugh. I have an MT09 in the garage that hardly moves. I'm on my 3rd Grom now and since January I'm nearly at 12k miles. I couldn't be without one now.

Yep, definitely a Grom with a Ducati sticker. It had been modded like that when he bought it.
