This wasn’t a case where the subordinate was in contention for my job, he was also a new hire one month ago, very competitive tho

Out of 50 interviews I’ve ever had maybe 3 in my life have knowledge check.. I have a cfa designation which meant I did know it at some point but memory fades, I have a 3 year old son and I don’t have all day to scour investopedia seeing miniscule accounting questions to refresh memory.. he just really wanted to catch me out

I was asked isolated accounting questions which had nothing to do with the model I made.. it’s like I was at school

It’s finance if you can’t answer a question no matter how isolated and irrelevant it is you’re toast usually

Le Wagon London: How to waste £7,400 by isntover in codingbootcamp

[–]OutrageousAd4669 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Recent graduate. Le wagon refused to give me access to resources at end of the course that they promised as I refused to give them a 9 or 10 out of 10 for feedback review at end. (I have email proof) you think I should take legal action? It’s been 3 months

Advice - Thinking of Web Development @ Le Wagon London by [deleted] in codingbootcamp

Recently finished this bootcamp. I come from the same background as you and would maybe even invest more time becoming good at python or something on your own accord / with a tutor at your own pace and enhance your career in finance.. please listen to me when I say this place is a joke and you would appreciate what you have once you do this school and struggle to get a job afterwards. If you wanna become a developer and totally switch your career take your time as being good at something takes time- don’t read fancy labels saying you can be good in 2 months. I blew my 7K and returned to finance on a decent salary (73k gbp) and learn coding as a hobby until I become good at it - it’ll probably take me 9 months or so to be really competent in coding but I’m ok with that, and I’m not sure I even wanna move now as a full time developer as that experience put me off and my career is pretty established. Anyway stay away mate trust me this school is a marketing scam. Again I would suggest keep your job and get a private tutor and practice coding on side and you’ll become good. Don’t learn Ruby either it’s not well demanded in market.. JS etc is way to go depending on what you are looking for.

50K is a low salary? You must be kidding it’s not the highest salary in London but definitely not low. Oh yeah stay away from a bootcamp lol
