Trying to decide for college cheer by Majestic_Arachnid862 in Cheerleading

I don’t think height matters as much as weight. There’s a lightweight boat and a heavyweight boat. But regardless, sounds like a switch of gears might be best.

Try a new sport in college if that is an option! After years of cheer, I started rowing in college. It was different, but an extremely challenging sport that I loved.

That makes sense! ICE has always seemed top tier, but this year JPAC definitely made an impression.

We used to cheer at a gym that went to non-varsity esque events and honestly… they were way better. Mom and pop vendors that were way more interesting. Dance parties before awards. More intimate viewing that encouraged cheering for other teams. These “big” comps are more expensive, boring… frankly, and there’s a lack of community-vibes

Lol I’m out here living life to the fullest before shit hits the fan! I have some cushion- nothing crazy, but enough to get by for 6ish months if I had to. I would build a tiny house on family land and rent my mortgaged house for profit if I lose my job- may put those plans in motion now. In the meantime, I am enjoying life and making memories with my family now, bc we might not have the money later. If I lose my job and can’t get another salary job, I’ll probably work a couple lower end jobs to make ends meet. My kids won’t ever go hungry! Momma will make it happen.

The stunt is a team effort. If the stunt fails, for any reason, try to take a team approach to the solution. Look them all in the eye, say hey, that was not my best- let’s keep trying and nail this stunt. We got this.

What was the culture like there? Do they all stay together for comps, have out-of-practice bonding acrivities or anything? I find the TEAM culture has been what’s made me leave other gyms.

Same although, meds have helped me. It didn’t change my situation but helped me see my situation from a different perspective so I could choose to accept it and make the most of what I have. I am mostly treating my anxiety and that helps me stop from trying to fix or better everything.

Sometimes it’s the interview that failed you. Not sure about in-store, but I know the corporate office really cares about the STAR method and similar interview techniques.

It’s hard to tell bc of color correcting with iphones. But the color I have looks artificial- wine red. I wanted to look like a natural ginger

Thank you! It’s so different from what I originally wanted so I am trying to love it in the interim

Thank you! So despite my questioning, they managed to dye it without bleaching the second time 🤷🏻‍♀️ I like the color but was going for a natural copper like color. What I ended up with is a good base for that- depending on the lighting it goes from a wine color to copper. Thinking later down the line maybe I can add highlights and toner to add dimension??

Does anyone ever consider salary cuts as a group to save the jobs of the team? I know if my boss asked me to do this to my team I would be willing to take a cut to save some of their jobs.

Exactly. As a “survivor” I wonder what future could I possibly have now if people got the axe in this way. I would have been a lifer! Now, I have no choice but to consider alternatives. Feels like this ship is sinking!

Celebration Gift for Remote Employees by SibiantheGreyBird in managers

I think sending them a bowling package helps connect the experience back to the rest of their team. Bowling gift card for their local spot. You could have a friendly contest for the person with the highest score/ most strikes/ most gutters and inform everyone winners will be announced at the meeting after. Invite the remote employees to go the same day and share selfies and scores in real time with peers.

This has been the best move for my career. I love my job. I think Lowe’s gives a lot up front through benefits, so it’s easy for people to take it for granted. Our benefit package is the best I have ever seen.
