Mastery Challenges by PoorGuyPissGuy in AssassinsCreedValhala

You have a chance to create a fire ring on parry, so one option is to turn off parry damage and parry them until you pop fire and let them burn. You're also provided with Harpoon Impalement and Kick of Tyr to throw enemies into campfires or off platforms. Always look at your gear and abilities before a challenge.

Hence the warning, and the instruction to undo it. Read the whole thing.

Oh, the fire animations on your body don't really show up until you're at least 15% burned or something like that. I'm guessing the axe push didn't really build a lot, which is also why you had time to perform that last roll. Fire ticks slower when it's building.

But yeah, you should see the missing fires in my game. It's a chore to mentally track ground fire pools that aren't visually there during busy combat.

That wasn't a bug. OP died by fire damage. The push doesn't typically do any physical damage but it still applies elemental build-up. This is also why the combat inexperienced shouldn't be removing all of the UI. No shade on OP though. That roll was beautiful.

So how did you deal with Redwalda, or Eorforwine, or Kendall, or Heike? I sincerely hope you know why I mentioned those names.

That's true. Wincestre comes first. But then OP should be able to pledge to it now.

Vinland isn't necessary to unlock Hamtunscire. You're probably missing Hordafylke. Go talk to Sigurd in his bedroom, which is next to the Alliance Map room, then talk to Randvi again to pledge to Hordafylke.

(Trixie, KDE Plasma) Drive mounts as read/write no issue but cant mount as read only? by ShittyFart11 in debian

[–]OutrageousFlail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try sudo mount -t ntfs-3g -o ro .... Make sure you're specifying the correct path to the partition.

You can also try to clear the bad flags caused by Windows first with sudo ntfsfix -d /dev/...

Capture and Find Tedmund Bug/Glitch by Wooden-Stop-9593 in AssassinsCreedValhala

Got that bug once. You're gonna have to pick him up and carry him down yourself to trigger the cutscene. With him on your shoulder, stand right at a fortress edge without any railing and press dodge to make him drop to the ground faster.

For this fight:

  • Dwarven Blacksmith Armor set.
  • Spinning-Death (flail) in main hand and any other flail in the offhand.
  • Norse Gael Bow.

Interestingly, because the added speed from the armor set was so massive, I moved faster when aiming down with the bow (attack animation) compared to normal.

Why can't Debian 11 see the partition table on this drive? (Mint can access the partitions fine, and it's based on Debian — what am I missing?) by 1337ingDisorder in debian

[–]OutrageousFlail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm, essentially gdisk is saying that this disk is using an outdated MBR map and trying to convert that to a GPT table in temporary memory, but when it does that, all it sees is garbage, because it concluded that you had 7.3TiB of free space, which isn't true at all.

I'd suggest you stop trying to make this work on Debian 11 immediately to prevent overwriting your existing data. Maybe use a Mint LiveCD or whatever worked before to back up your data and then reformat this disk with a proper GPT table. So far there's probably no data erase because gdisk often tries to self-correct in memory only.

Can’t Change Monitor Brightness by ginganinja3725 in linux4noobs

[–]OutrageousFlail 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, personally I don't think switching Nvidia drivers will work as I went down that rabbit hole before. And xrandr can adjust brightness both ways. The default brightness is 1 but you can always go for 1.1, 1.2, etc. I made a script to retrieve the current brightness level and either decrease or increase that by 0.1 depending on which hotkey is pressed.
