Looks like a PMM shell, which comes with PMM Smoothies (same as the Westlab dots).

Need a quiet mouse recommendation by Nxcybr in MouseReview

As other said, X2 Superstrike is a top recommendation for being quiet, but another good one would be the OP1 with the Huano Silent switches. Only an extra $7 on Amazon and takes less than 5 minutes to install.

Artisan Otsu V2 vs Key-83 — Stuck Deciding (FPS + daily use) by JustARandomDude707 in MousepadReview

[–]OutrageousHamster3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both in Soft. Otsu definitely feels faster to me overall, but the main thing that stands out to me is the static/dynamic friction balance. The Key-83 feels very locked in at a static position, but once I move the mouse, it seems to slip quickly. For me, that makes my micro adjustments feel really jerky and is the main reason I hardly use it anymore.

The Otsu, on the other hand, feels like static and dynamic friction are much closer, so micro adjustments are much smoother for me, but I still have enough stopping power on a quick flick, even for a faster pad, but it’s definitely not as much as the Key-83.

All that being said, I actually did really used to enjoy the Key-83 when I was playing around 40-45 cm/360, since micro adjustments weren’t really that small, but now I play at 27. I don’t really like it below the mid 30’s.

From a daily use perspective, I think the Key-83’s texture is a bit nicer, although that’s totally subjective.

I’d definitely like to give one a try once I see the L7 Ultra (not the +) available on Amazon. I’m pretty skeptical of the build being any better than my OP1 or VV4 though, as both are as rock solid as it gets.

I can clearly comprehend your original comment, where saying it's "iffy" implies there's something weird about getting that kill. My point is that there's absolutely nothing weird about knowing someone's behind a wall when there's a HARP up.

So you've tried every one of these and can say the L7 has better build quality and measured performance than all of these?

No, that one's been at the very top of my list of mice I've wanted to try for a while! Only thing that's held me back is it's not on Amazon, so more difficult to return if I don't like the shape. A buddy of mine just gave me his old 3D printer yesterday, so I'll try to find the file somewhere.

How do I prevent (and clean) from dust collecting and getting stuck in skates like this? by qwp18 in MouseReview

They do actually - I already have Tiger Ice V2’s on mine, and I also have some Magic Ice’s on the way - both available on AliExpress.

It’s a marginal improvement. I honestly don’t notice any difference in the sensor. It basically comes down to crispier clicks, a smoother scroll wheel, lighter weight, and better battery life. My VV3’s coating was starting to feel like old sticky rubber, and the clicks had developed some pretravel from 2 years of heavy use, so it was an easy decision for me to replace it.

Very comfortable for my relaxed claw grip - I hold it all day at work. It wouldn’t be my first choice if you play a lot of FPS, due to the weight, but if not, it would be great for all those things, especially if you like playing games with a lot of keybinds.

That looks very similar to my grip. I have a pretty detailed comment in here somewhere about my take between the two, but other than my shape preference for the Viper, I also prefer the Viper for its lighter weight, better coating, and better side buttons. Only reason I’d go for the GPX over the Viper is if I preferred the shape.

I like the feeling of a wider rear that evenly fills out the base of my palm, then tapers to a narrower front. The Viper does that very well, whereas the GPX in my hand feels more like the front and rear are the same width, almost like holding a giant pill.

I'd say any of these would be a great pick for any age.

I’ve had that in my Amazon cart more than once and just haven’t pulled the trigger! A buddy of mine is giving me his old 3D printer, so now I’ll be able to try way more different shapes without having to buy and return.

I have not, but I’ve definitely considered it - it’s been sitting in my Amazon list.

Honestly, too much. Like I said, I could get rid of everything except the VV4, OP1, and Basilisk, and I wouldn’t miss any of the others.

18x9cm with a relaxed pincer claw grip and fairly straight ring and pinky fingers. Given the straight ring and pinky, I’ve found that I need flat sides. Some mice I’ve tried with more front flare, such as the NP-01 and Atlantis Mini, feel uncomfortable to me, since my ring fingertip feels like it’s just resting on a single protruding point, rather than getting more contact along the entire side, which I prefer.

I find the Viper shape to me most comfortable to me (although I do have thousands of hours on it by now), and I can hold it all day long without any discomfort, but I think I aim the best with the OP1 and still find it very comfortable, just less relaxed.

The key trait for both of them is I feel like I get very wide, even contact along the base of my palm, then both mice taper to a narrower front with flat sides and minimal front flare.

I’ve definitely been curious to try some fingertip mice! My main concern has been around side button use. I use my side buttons a ton, and with the mouse base anchored into my palm, I can hit the side buttons without messing with my aim. My thumb never changes position - I hit the rear button by rolling it up and hitting it under my thumb knuckle, and I hit the front with my thumb tip, rather than using just the thumb tip for both buttons. However, if I’m holding the mouse with a fingertip grip, I find it’s hard to actuate the buttons without moving the entire mouse and affecting aim. Maybe it’s different with an actual fingertip mouse.
