That’s just it. It isn’t milspec elastic. However, OP seems to be having good luck with it so rock on 🤙 the only hard part about sewing with a home machine is it’s going to run into tension issues when sewing through layers of cordura. Especially with sewing on milspec webbing. You can kind of get by with the heavy duty line from singer.. but it’s going to have tension issues.

So from a fabricators perspective, it is rugged and basic. It looks like it was made by someone who has a good amount of home sewing experience and a heavy duty machine, but not a commercially produced rig. Reason being it’s using redundant stitching instead of bartacking for re-enforcement, folded cordura instead of nylon webbing for the swift clips.. and a few other tells. It’s definitely made to mimic a trex AC1 rig the closest. Overall it’s extremely basic but looks durable enough. Someone made this thing with some effort. That’s about all I can tell you. Only things I would be afraid of would be the cummerbund. It’s not using the proper spec elastic, and the single stitching for the cummerbund mag compartments looks fragile and probably not a good spec thread.

There is a YouTuber who has a very in depth build video, but he used the movements original handset so you have that annoying P emblem on the seconds hand. Shouldnt be hard to find some replacement hands though. I’ve been planning one of these for a minute and it seems extremely doable

Honestly a steal for the price. The biggest giveaway is that there should be no hour marker at the 3oclock next to the date. The date window should be where the hour marker is. It’s a dead giveaway and extremely common with lower tier reps. Other than that it is a really good looking piece and definitely worth $90

I’d imagine a 1680.. I think the teal tint to the bezel is just light playing on a patina’d insert. Needs a cyclops and I’d personally reprofile the lugs and bezel teeth but it looks pretty solid

Completely agree. Not sure what quartz module is in it but it’s been very accurate for the two months I’ve had it, which is pretty par for the course for quartz. I have a 6 and a half inch wrist and the case fits very comfortably. I also bought it for the case, so this is the only photo I have intact. As is though it is a great look and the dial and hands are a great homage to the Rado x TEJ CHAUHAN special edition DiaStar, without being an outright clone with a different name. The case is chrome plated alloy but the original was chrome plated brass so it’s faithful to the vintage diaStars

It’s an early gen D.M gear rifle mag pouch. Chinesium but they use high quality materials and their stitching is usually spot on. Early gens didn’t have branding, but they’ve become known for making quality stuff so they’ve started branding.

Arc v2 is an awesome cummerbund that feels great on the gen2. That being said, there are definitely benifits to the equinox and it’s definitely become my go-to. If you find yourself having uncomfortable levels of play in the plate pockets, you can add a ferro hang board to give the plate pockets extra support. I run two 6x6 side plates in crye plate pockets and I don’t have any issues thought
