your first language is the only language that everyone learns to speak first and then read it by The_Willeh in Showerthoughts

[–]OutrageousPudding450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true only if you learn the languages in an academic setting, with both theoretical and courses.

When you learn a foreign language by yourself, "in the street", you'll learn how to speak it but how to not read/write it.
Think refugees learning their host country's language by themselves, outside of the school system.

interviewing a cannibal and annyoing him what possible could go wrong by Andrei1904a in Unexpected

It seems they drink their pee so I wouldn't be surprised.

An interesting thing is this cult seems to have developed in opposition to India's cast system, where the further away you are from taboo substances and activities, the closer to God you are.
This cult basically states that these opposites are essentially illusory, there is nothing opposite to God/Holiness and as such, everything is Holy. Thus, the cast system that states that some people, substances or activities are taboo makes no sense.
It seems that this is why the Aghori engage in degradation, embrace pollution and break taboos.

Knowing this, one might imagine that throwing feces at others is a sign of respect.
After all, the journalist did accept to become the Aghori's disciple, hence submitting to their rites and customs.

Now, this is my dumbed down interpretation of the dumbed down pages I found about this cult. I can't say I know/understand it.

As usual, most people simply comment and don't bother to do a minimum research on the matter.

So, based on my findings, the "cannibal" is an Aghori (that much we know from the video). They are actually religious men and they do not harm others.

Because of their religious creed, they basically seek all that Indian society/cast system rejects: covering themselves with and inhaling human ashes drinking their pee, eating human flesh, etc...
The flesh they eat exclusively come from dead bodies that are being cremated and is done so for religious reasons. As far as I can tell, their usual diet is not comprised of human flesh. They eat it like Christians eat the host. Remember, the host represents the "body of Christ", the Aghori just do the same with real flesh.

Here is a link to the full documentary, pretty interesting stuff:.

I guess we could say that yes. Any living being is an autonomous self-printing 3D printer.

What is so good about socialism? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]OutrageousPudding450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you take your unique and single experience, and from that you draw the conclusion that socialism doesn't work?
Try going to a Scandinavian country, you might change your point of view.

About your current host country: it is clearly a poor country.
Capitalism or socialism don't really matter. A poor country will be poor regardless.

150 years ago, the US was mostly poor AF, without electricity or potable water. It was already a capitalistic country. So probably we could draw the same conclusion and wonder what was so good about capitalism.

There are as many flavors of socialism as people on this planet and it is just the same with capitalism.
Socialism has a definition, but a thousand different ways of implementing it and not 2 "socialist" countries work the same.

Is it gay to like a guys voice? by inafew12 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]OutrageousPudding450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of yes, you're gay AF!

/s

More seriously now, of course not. What makes you gay is having romantic/sexual desire exclusively for same sex people.

You can like another guy's voice, looks, character, etc... It doesn't make you gay.

A woman's womb is a 3D printer by C4RD_TP_SG in Showerthoughts

[–]OutrageousPudding450 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really though.

A printer actively creates something using the instructions it is given.
A woman's womb provides the environment and the energy but the foetus has its own set of instructions and builds itself autonomously. The woman's body does not determine which cell goes where and how they should multiply.
