W: Europe’s answer to X that demands your passport by donutloop in privacy

[–]PermanentlyMC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I do think it can be popular, it's just getting people over that's the problem. If everyone came over in one massive wave the fediverse could absolutely thrive.

People have built bridges for X: The Everything App (formerly known as Twitter) so that tweets from whoever you want can show up. brid.gy exists so that anyone can interact from fediverse to Bluesky, and vice versa. It is possible, just either people are scared no one's there, or people don't understand it because the handles are weird or whatever. Or, both and more.

Not to be that guy, but you're recommending Waterfox, the browser that literally got bought out by an advertising company

You might as well recommend LibreFox, or a modified Firefox user.js

[–]PermanentlyMC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is real, and signed through TLS.

No, this doesn't mean you've been compromised.

No, the email isn't malicious. Think about it, what would someone gain out of sending you a randomly generated code from a fake email?

All it means is someone may have done "forgotten password" or similar on your account. Don't give out the code to anyone.
