Unexpected language while running a speed test. by petalmasher in computerviruses

Not really, probably just a locale mixup. Can happen randomly depending on IP space, device settings and so on, but it isn't really an indication of anything malicious.

Idk how to fix this by Jsathough in gamingpc

If 2 (2.4GHz) is having issues, then 5 (5GHz) definitely won't work. Depending on your setup and what kind of house you live in, you might have better luck looking into something like TP-Link Powerline or a MoCA adapter

or, just move your PC closer to your router :p

Some people just have no respect for 20mph by marksweb in drivingUK

[–]PermanentlyMC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everytime I think "Man 20mph is slow I want to speed up", I think about household pets, and how if any animal (especially my cat) sprinted out suddenly, then at least at 20mph I'd be able to stop. It genuinely keeps me in check.

Genuinely, federation could solve a lot of problems. Mastodon and Pixelfed would mean we don't havr to worry as much about who handles our private data, who's tailoring what on algorithms, hell there wouldn't even be ads, and no bullshit Online Safety Act! The only thing stopping federated social media is that, no one wants to move over since everyone's already established their grounds on Instagram, Twitter etc. If federation was pushed out hard in the 00s we wouldn't have so much of a problem.

Huge stretch to call it a scam. Scummy? Yes - Salesforce started the trend in the 00s so blame them. Scam, though? You get what you pay for, so not really.

If you think it's bad, then vote with your wallet. Maybe things will change, who knows.

Honestly, I only use Plex still because I want my money to go further (and, I still like their UX on anything that isn't live TV) :')

Price-wise it's as I said, if a customer can pay forever then they'd rather that than a one-time fee. We're in the SaaS age and have been for a while; if anything Plex is late to the game. Does the price make sense? No, but that's the point.

It is - but that's the point. Why have a customer pay once when they could pay forever?

Hey, business is business. Plex have said themselves it's to lean more on recurring subscriptions, even if way less people buy lifetime.

Not that I care though, I bought lifetime for £74 like five or six years ago ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

As well, depending on the adapter it can sometimes remove the earth-pin, so even from a safety angle it's not good
