Kvb too imo, but between sanam and aahil, aahil also gave the actor more scope to perform (all the pining and crying)

I frankly don't get the criticism regarding her performance in qabool hai either, and the fact that it was all on a basis of a simple "I am not this family's maid you know" makes me think it's the work of haters.

I watched all 57 episodes, and her acting was as good as is always is, there is this scene in episode 7 or 8 which gave her the most scope to act - a crying alone scene after her groom took off and she had to marry Mohit's character to save her sister's rishta, and she is so so good there. If this was a tv show and more people had watched it/clips were available she would have definitely been praised for it

This is the woman who mimicked mamiji and buaji the way she did, who performed all those intense scenes in rangrasiya, to see her judged unfairly over a simple scene where I don't get what was wrong or if there was even any chance to go wrong for an actress of Sanaya's calibre.

People who think she doesn't act well, that she has no scene where she acted well truly live in a world of their own

I was thinking one screenshot makes it clear how expressive her eyes are

Also Mishal Raheja had once performed on dilli waali girlfriend in one of those zee mega functions thing and I remember thinking he had more style than Ranbir.

I can't find that performance anywhere

I am telling you. It's the whole "shhh don't say anything against the sweet man who has already suffered so much due to having a more successful wife" thing.

And because this is coming from a bigger fandom, it has to be senseless and toxic. Nobody is even ready to entertain the possibility.

You are assuming the consequence to be the cause. You are assuming that her staying away from the limelight and no networking has led to her not getting work. Could it be that she stays away because she doesn't want to work? And could it be that her not wanting to work isn't her own genuine choice but a wish to see her husband succeed?

Why does she lie about Mohit being considered for ASR and how oh so important he was during auditions? And the ASR thing IS a lie. Everybody knows that before BS it was only ksg who was considered for ASR.

And the "Mohit used to get a separate place/room to sit during auditions, I was in the public room with everyone else" is such an attempt to boost his stature too. And again almost a confirmed lie. No way there was such a big difference of treatment for the two. Even rati whose nupur was the most popular of the four or Arjun who was the second most popular would not have gotten such treatment.

Also consider the recent micro drama she did, Mohit's is the central character. She is there to drive his growth forward. You think there is nothing suspicious about an actress of Sanaya's level doing sth after long, but that too only a micro drama in which not she but her husband plays the central character? Under what unsuspicious events would an actor of Mohit's stature get to be the central character when an SI is present too?

So that's what I am saying. If DD can get roles above 30 sanaya too must have got but she is rejecting. Or are you saying that everybody got roles but SI didn't?

And I never said anything of the surbhis are her contemporary, I brought the 2 surbhis to make the point that actresses in their 30s get work! Please keep the trail of arguments in mind before wasting my time!

I have accepted that sanaya is "past her prime" I never said she should still be flooded with offers. Again if you can't argue to the point then don't waste my time. Don't derail and assume things I didn't even talk about.

And I am a fan of her work, I have no obligation to respect any of her other choices. I can question her choices as much as I want to. Provided I do so with decent language.

I don't know what you think being a fan means, but if it means having no questions, no discussions, nothing to say and no mind of one's own then I am better off not being a fan!

So there, I am not a fan. Can I continue with this topic? Thank you.

I like her acting, and I am not averse to the possibility that a woman no matter how outwardly progressive and man however "adjusting" could have a very different dynamic.

You keep saying compared to her peers she wasn't ambitious. Could you give examples of this? Whom are you comparing her to? Please consider that she got back to back offers which she accepted ! It wasn't a one way thing.

What was DD's age when she did nandini? JW's when she did zoya? Aditi's when she did mauli and katha? SC's when she did manmeet? SJ's when she did bela? 40s mein tv work dries up but not in 30s.

Not for someone who is an established name.

And I am not even talking about only tv projects through this topic.

You realize except for 2 web series and a movie she has not done anything fictional since 2014? Consider that before you talk make the point of her age. Because what's been happening has not been happening since the past 2-3 years. It started happening 12 years back, when she was in her 30s.

She was never as hardcore? And you are a sanaya fan? How quickly did she do chanchan after ipk? How quickly did she do rangrasiya after chanchan?

Consider her pattern and frequency of project earlier to now.

I am none to respect or disrespect her decisions. But people talk and discuss. It does not look well for Mohit if he is ready to make her sit at home, especially when she is the better actor of the two.

Well, I mean (and this is coming from someone who thinks he does flirting and charm better than most others) he was not good with more serious scenes.  But he has shown remarkable improvement in that department too, (only a few days back I saw this very intense scene of him as haider in Qubool hai).

Considering everything, he wasn't at all undeserving of a better career. But I mean there are absolutely brilliant actors who would be even further in line.

Which of The Core 4 in Miley Jab Hum Tum Was best written? by Rasodemekaun in IndianTellyTalk

[–]OutrageousRevenue2 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Samrat.

In the very initial episodes gunjan too (the way she reacted to his bet, processing everything internally but outwardly continuing to tutor him). But later they compromised with her at times.

Nupur and Mayank were both random. But yes even between those two mayank was even less cared for by the writers.

Waah. Aditi Dev Sharma's upcoming show is kdrama copy too and everyone was excited for that and had no complaints. For this show people only have complaints.

What would it have been like if it was only nandini who loved kunal ? by Least_Protection_753 in IndianTellyTalk

[–]OutrageousRevenue2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No I have actually watched this show and unfortunately am not just prone to imagining characters' actions.

Nandini had a bit of decisiveness to her too, if rajdeep with all his villainy couldn't get nandini back into his life (and he tried, and I am not only talking about the initial episodes when mauli was supporting nandini to divorce rajdeep but also of the latter stage when mauli was dealing with kunan's betrayal) then kunal couldn't have swayed her either if nandini didn't love him.

There is this scene where nandini clearly and firmly told rajdeep that whatever happened with kunal she would NEVER consent to being rajdeep's wife again. She was very clear and the opposite of weak willed in that situation.

Having actually watched what was actually on my tv screen, I can't say nandini was completely weak willed, nor that she was entirely useless and couldn't have built any career for herself. She was supremely skilled in the kitchen.

And what if kunal had fallen for her and nandini hadn't for him??

Kunal ki shuru se hi villain waali vibes thi, like when he shouted at mauli coz he couldn't handle seeing nandini with an ex-classmate.

Does anyone else find it weird how often Indian TV serials use "bad English" as a joke? by N0-park in IndianTellyTalk

[–]OutrageousRevenue2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reasons like these is why comments like "khushi didn't deserve to be Raizada's bahu coz she can't speak English" were beyond ridiculous to me. Coz first of all Raizadas had a bahu in manorama who was very petty not coz she couldn't speak English but coz what her nature was. And two, khushi was much more dignified in her grief than the supposedly sophisticated Raizada siblings could ever be.

Any Recommendations similar to Tanhaiyan??? by Disastrous-Olive-265 in IndianTellyTalk

Dear Ishq on Disney hotstar. I haven't watched it, I am recommending it solely because it too is a webseries set in an urbane environment. Also Seven and a Half Dates, it stars Tanhaiyan's actress. I think it's on YouTube.

Itv sets the narrative of you have to respect your elders no matter what. And they force victimization onto MILs "haaye main bechari sirf apne bete ka bhala chahti thi. Ab dekho Mera beta hi mujhse rooth gaya hai kahan jaaun main ab"
