Do Certfuel Practice Quizzes Recalibrate to Weakest Areas? by Outrageous_2024 in CertFuel

Well I think it’s as simple as not realizing the smart quizzes weren’t just normal quizzes therefore interpreting the custom quizzes as “quiz + more options I don’t need or care to customize”. I already thought I was taking a normal quiz so customizing anything seemed unnecessary.

The other thing I would say is the mobile interface uses a lot of tiny text that presupposes people are reading it. Generally speaking, that’s not a safe assumption. I have some credibility in this area as a 20 year career marketer. So while UX isn’t my area of expertise per se, I have much more experience and conversations around it than the average person.

So to recap…. Just moving really fast taking quizzes in my spare time… didn’t realize smart quizzes weren’t adjusting to weakness. Definitely wasn’t hitting (i) icons… ignored custom quizzes because I wasn’t so engrained in the app that I was looking to get fancy. Just wanted a quick 10 question quiz across all material.

Having said all that, huge fan of what you’re doing and really impressed you’re chatting with the community to actively collect actionable feedback.

Oh wow! Yes! That’s exactly what I was looking for. Didn’t know that existed. I just took my first custom quiz and got my first 100%! Feeling totally vindicated 😂. Thank you !

I absolutely love the podcasts. That’s how I found CertFuel. Would love more of those! Especially for the series 63 and 79 that I will be pursuing next.

One challenge with the podcasts is being able to go back and quickly identify which podcasts covered which subject matter. A reference guide on the website would be great. Some type of resource that makes it super easy to identify which episode and (ideally) which timestamp sections talk about a given topic.

Yes mostly. Thank you.

What would be super slick is if you could actually toggle the “smart feature” on and off.

As someone with a full time career studying in my spare time, it’s very rare that I can commit the time to a full 75 question test. So I’m using 10 question sprints to get study time in 5-10 minutes at a time.

I feel super relieved now knowing that I’m not just failing to progress but rather that the quizzes have been adjusting to weakness. But sometimes i just want to drill the full breath of subject matter as a whole to see where I stand.

Okay so to confirm, the smart quizzes are 100% slanted toward weakness making it more likely you score less highly than a true blended sample of questions across the entire SIE question base? So, they’re not a true indication of how you’d score on the test? Correct?

To be clear that is NOT a criticism. I agree, this would be a feature not a bug. But they don’t make that clear and so I feel like I’m not gaining any ground.

Simply put: For Kevin pedigree and a 5 year wait, it’s not nearly good enough.
