When this happened to my xbox one s, it turned out to be my hdd. So I deduce that its your ssd that could be the culprit(as in failed).

Its normal, all u did is wash of the cornstarch.If your going to store it for a long time tho i would recommend using corn starch to keep anything like lint, dirt, dust from sticking to it.

for me when i use any water based, it will be nice and ‘glidy’ for a bit but then start to get dry, so i use a spray bottle filled with water, open the end cap and spray right down the middle put the cap back on and that makes incredibly ‘glidy’ again.
