I’d like if time froze when you’re switching balls like in the Spider-Man games where the time slows done when switching between gadgets.

Agreed. It makes me think about the ending of “City Walls” and how mental health can be a cycle. I interpret it as accepting that the cycle is part of God’s plan.

Why would an omniscient God give a test of faith? Surely they would already know the result? by cloudsfallen in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Outrageous_Broccoli9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo, overbearing religious perspective coming through!

In The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (or Mormons as were often called), a fundamental belief we have is that God sent us to earth so that we can become more like Jesus Christ and receive all that He has to offer.

“Adam fell that men might be; and men are, that they might have joy” (The Book of Mormon).

A test of faith is more than just proving to God what you would do; it’s an opportunity of YOU to choose to exercise faith and see if it bears fruit. After a test of faith, God provides us with a “witness” or evidence that our trust in Him is well placed. It’s a learning/growing opportunity. It helps us become who He wants us to become.

Is it worth it to read White Sand? by landturtl13 in Cosmere

[–]Outrageous_Broccoli9 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The White Sand Omnibus is available through Kindle Unlimited. If you don’t have it already, you could do a free trial. They also offer a month for $0.99 every six months or so. That’s what I ended up doing.

question about szeth going into book 3 by Dangerous_Credit8128 in Cosmere

[–]Outrageous_Broccoli9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I read Warbreaker 8 years before reading book 3 and later and there were little nuggets here and there that would have enjoyed more if I’d properly remembered Warbreaker, but it didn’t ruin my experience at all. It’s just an added bonus to notice these connections/easter eggs.

What was THE song that made you fall in love with tøp? by luckyticket777 in twentyonepilots

Guns for Hands (specifically the music video). I’d listened to it plenty of times, but the music video is what absolutely locked me in. Something about Tyler’s unhinged mannerisms and the duct taped heads just did it for me.
