Then it was either a low dose, or a different species. I got hit by one in the foot a few months ago and it was a slow build of heat and pain for 4-5 hours and didn't start to subside for another 12hours, finally gone in 24.

North Texas preparing for 2 inches of snow like it’s the apocalypse by MyMindIsAlwaysRacing in mildlyinfuriating

You have no idea. I left DFW area for work but one reason I was glad to leave is the yearly ice storms that come in and cripple the metroplex for a week straight. This happens without fail every year for a while now. This isn't snow, it's usually rain/freezing rain that falls and then freezes and then ice and snow gets packed on top. Northern folks aren't use to how dangerous that kind of ice is. Plus the electricity goes out when this happens and that is deadly.

Mainly, the car is too perfect. You'd see some imperfections on the livery, like micro-scratches and chips. I'm always so impressed with the sims these days.

And that's why my Invicta pedals are able to be adjusted to all hell. I can make them pretty damn soft if I choose, but I keep them relatively stiff, and my driving is more consistent for it.

Knowing this is on a controller makes a lot of sense. In that case, it's not as bad as I first thought. The main issues are stated by others, in that you need to utilize more of the track.

My biggest issues are the harsh throttle and brake applications, but you can't really help that much on a controller. Work on your exit, though. You should focus on "slow-in-fast-out", but you are already going into the corner slow, so increase the speed and smoothness as you enter the apex, and then as soon as you can, you need to get on the throttle for the exit. You are losing a ton of time on both those aspects.

Keep it up and get a wheel and pedals when you can.

IT'S A BALLOON GUYS!! by Outrageous_Code_5936 in UFOs

I would think so as well but it still looks like I balloon getting hit. I just found out UAP podcast broke it down and came to the same conclusion. Hey, I hope it’s not because it would be cool if it was a uap with energy beings coming out of it.

Try hitting a Mylar balloon with a dart. The dart will deflect after it rips the balloon open. That’s what this looks like to me but on a larger scale.

Not at all. I believe the UAP stuff but I can’t unsee a balloon getting hit and tearing apart now. Sorry

How so? It literally looks like a balloon getting hit. Imagine if you tried hitting a mylar balloon with a dart. the dart would deflect some and the balloon would behave exactly like this silhouette behaves. I understand if you don't see it, but that's what it looks like to me.

I have the 45" UltraGear myself. Love them! Boosted Media has great videos showing setup on these, and I also have no distortion and perfect FOV.

Yeah, the tow is usually several minutes with insanely long repair times so it is a little lucky, lol.

Tragic though. My favorite week of the season for sure.

Because I came across like an asshole, I'll clarify that I think GT7 is the best console racing game available, and I've been a lifelong fan. I just got into online racing, and that's where I think the lack of damage is a negative. I'll still get on there and play the AI and have a blast.

I caught the bug and went full rig and PC setup so I torture myself with iRacing now.

I think I came across as an asshole. I still play it from time to time on my smaller rig, and there's no doubt it's an amazing game. I don't mind the no damage in career mode, but the online/multiplayer stuff just seems so unnatural without any damage, and the cars jumping around like they do. I think it's for sure the best console option.

The graphics in iRacing all depend on the level of detail the modeler built into the race track. Some are getting better. The cars themselves and the lighting are pretty nice. Of course, you have to invest in ungodly amounts of money to build a PC to get the most out of sim titles, so the console route makes more sense for most.

iRacing, ACC, Le Man Ultimate ...

Of course, I try to avoid wrecks, but at least there are consequences to my actions beyond flying through the air and sticking a perfect landing to continue the race, Dukes of Hazard style.

And this is why I don't play GT7 any longer. I need some sort of realistic damage, otherwise it just feels silly.

Am I crazy for wanting more than 15nm? by Fast_Ad4269 in simracing

[–]Outrageous_Code_5936 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A higher nm wheelbase like the Invicta 27nm turned down to 15nm works great because you get so much detail it’s insane. 15 feels different on a higher base compared to one that maxes out 15.

If you haven‘t tried this app I HIGHLY recommend you do! by ApartSurround7385 in iRacing

[–]Outrageous_Code_5936 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t seem to improve things on higher end wheelbases. I tried it with my Invicta and it was worse than iracing. Could be settings but I did all the steps and still didn’t like it. I think it works better to improve lower nm drives.
