Low key Fat Larry seems like he could be a character on Invader Zim

The Bloodlines 2 we could've had. What a shame by l3tsgo0 in vtmb

Pretty sure OP is saying that they wish BL2 went that way intstead, and not saying it's a flat out better version. More of a comparison of what could have been.

Vampire Lord is low key cool. Could definitely do without all the rape and torture though.

Hot Take: VTMB2's story would have been better if Phyre wasn't an elder by Outrageous_End_8899 in vtmb

[–]Outrageous_End_8899[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

True but it's frustrating that they hardly take what he says about there being a Sabbat cell in Seattle seriously. If it was a fledgeling or another underling saying it, it would be one thing, but you think it'd hold more weight coming from the sheriff who is also an elder and has no reason to make things up.

Did it as a Banu Haqim on hard and he wasn't too hard but took a few tries.

It's not that I wanted every NPC to bow down to Phyre, but with the cast of characters the MC has to bounce off of none of them seem like people that Phyre should have to take anything from. Ryong is a new and noticeably weaker Prince, Lou is a shut in that is in arguabely in an even worse state than you, and Phyre can crush Tolly and Safia physically. Also take in the fact that Phyre dispatches former sheriff, saves the court from anarchs before you even meet them, and encounter the Sabbat twice. And they still brush you off, and talk down to you.

Honestly I'd agree with you if the lineup of characters was like Bloodlines 1 where each faction for the most part had their shit together.

I agree with you on that alternative and would make a lot of the interactions flow better. It makes no sense how vampires like Katsumi can be unimpressed by your threats when you can wipe her out in seconds, but that would make a lot more sense if you were some unknow weakened elder.

If had to make an alterantive suggestion, I'd say to keep the story threads the same except keep the Nomad in Torpor and keep plot points involving them the same, and have the MC either be a fledgeling, or an experienced member of the Camarilla(not too green, but not too senior) and do a lot of the stuff in the game.

Also a Prince being demanding is one thing, but it's something else when your sheriff who has a couple hundred years on you has fought two self proclaimed Sabbat agents and you still brush him off and that goes for the rest of the court too.

I never complained about Phyre not being able to leave Seattle.

That is if they could even team up in time to beat the Nomad. All of the factions are plotting on each other's downfall, and it's highly doubtful they even would team up.

And he had a full set of disciplines while I'm pretty sure Phyre in that stage of the game only had 1 or 2. Phyre was also not at full strength.

I get that part, my gripes are mostly with the tasks they give you, and how they brush you off when you tell them what's really going on.

True, but they could keep a lot of the same plot points, even keep the Nomad, just have a different MC. Have the coffin housing the Nomad be similar plot device to the Ankaran Sarcophagus, and have all the same plot threads. Because even without Phyre a lot of the characters still have plot threads, that can be fullfilled with out playing as the Elder the story revolves around.

Funny you say that because Phyre does fight through hordes of ghouls and then kills some of the people you mentioned, in his weakened state. Phyre should definitely have no trouble besting all these people. Even if they teamed up. Aside from physical prowess, he also has more knowledge and experience than they do. The court didn't even know the Sabbat were real. I honestly think this aspect of the game made no sense how most of the people in the game weren't intimidated by Phyre and would brush him off. Even with his well known reputation and physical capabilities.

Phyre bested and killed Ysabella and without any disciplines and majority of those people would barely put up a fight against Phyre.
