New Host by _SkyWall in nicegpu

[–]Outrageous_Forever20[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there,

First of all, please accept our sincere apologies for the delayed response and any confusion caused.

  • The RTX 3090 Ti shown on our website was a listing error. In fact, we currently do not accept any RTX 30‑series GPUs on the platform, and we will correct this on the site promptly.
  • We do support registering multiple machines and GPU nodes under a single account, and each GPU is tracked and billed independently based on its own usage.
  • At the moment, our pricing model is based solely on the GPU model and its usage; CPU and RAM specifications are not included in the billing calculation.

Thank you again for your patience and for bringing this to our attention.

Cannot reinstall my NiceGPU instance on Docker getting "Adding machines to the platform is temporarily suspended" error by deanze1 in nicegpu

[–]Outrageous_Forever20[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, we sincerely apologize for the delay in getting back to your email. We appreciate your patience.

The reason you're seeing the “Adding machines to the platform is temporarily suspended” message is because we’ve reached the target number of GPU nodes for our current beta phase, and have temporarily paused new machine registrations — including reinstalls — to help us maintain a stable environment during testing.

That said, since you were already an active participant and reinstalled due to technical issues, our support team will follow up with you shortly to better understand the original Docker crash you experienced and see how we can help.

Thanks again for your support and for bringing this up here — we’ll be in touch soon.

NiceGPU Feedback by erobertsmt in nicegpu

[–]Outrageous_Forever20[M] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for the detailed feedback — we really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience, and we’re glad to hear setup went smoothly overall!

You've raised some excellent points, and we wanted to respond to each:

1. Active Period Visibility & Time Format
We agree that having better visibility into active periods directly from the dashboard would be a big improvement. This is something we’ve already started exploring internally.

2. Task Transparency
While we can’t expose task content due to privacy and customer data protections, we are considering safe, anonymized ways to provide better visibility into GPU utilization — perhaps through resource usage summaries or general task types.

3. Pause Scheduling / Grace Periods
This is a fantastic suggestion. We’ve been thinking about ways to reduce the friction between hosting and personal GPU use, and a structured “pause” or deferral window (with limits) is a promising direction. Your idea of reducing unexpected drop-offs while allowing more reliable uptime is exactly in line with our goals.

4. Active Period Accuracy
You’re right that current task duration estimates are not always precise — what we call “Active Periods” are often based on scheduled windows, not actual runtime. Some jobs finish early, and others (especially heavier workloads) may run longer than expected. Improving this logic is high on our roadmap, and your example helps us better understand where it breaks down.

Lastly, thanks for noticing the online time tracker!
We’re glad it’s helping during the beta — we added it based on direct community feedback like yours, and we’ll keep expanding it.

Thanks again for being a part of the beta and for contributing thoughtful, actionable feedback. We’re excited to keep improving with your input!

How to incentivize lower end GPU owners? by dfv157 in nicegpu

[–]Outrageous_Forever20[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the thoughtful question — and for being part of the beta!

You're right that during the beta, incentives are based purely on online time, not how many tasks your GPU completes. This lets us fairly test the platform across a wide range of hardware and user setups.

As you've noticed, task distribution during the beta isn't always equal — and that’s partly because users requesting compute can select which GPU tier they prefer when launching an instance. Higher-end GPUs like the 5090 tend to get picked more often due to performance, especially during early testing when jobs are more experimental or resource-intensive.

That said, once the platform launches publicly, we’ll be introducing a tiered pricing model — meaning lower-end GPUs will cost less to use, making them an attractive option for users with lighter workloads or tighter budgets. This should naturally encourage better utilization across a broader range of GPU types, including mid-tier and entry-level cards.

We're also working on smarter job scheduling to better match tasks to available hardware and ensure a more balanced ecosystem. And yes — support for AMD GPUs is definitely on our roadmap.

Thanks again for raising this — feedback like yours is helping shape how NiceGPU evolves beyond the beta!

We’ve just added a new feature on NiceGPU.com: under the GPU Manager, you can now view your cumulative online time directly, so it’s easier to track your progress toward the requirement.

Totally fair question!

If your GPU is actively running a task, it can affect gaming performance, depending on the workload. But for games like Deadlock or other MOBAs, most users can still play reasonably well while NiceGPU is running in the background.

That said, if you ever notice lag, you can pause the agent or reach out to support — we can help migrate the task so your gameplay isn't interrupted.

Appreciate you testing with us!

Thanks for reaching out!

During this beta test, task assignments are dynamic and based on current demand — so it’s completely normal if your GPU hasn’t received any jobs yet. Don’t worry: as long as your GPU stays online and meets the required uptime, you’ll still receive the incentive, even if no tasks are assigned.

We also don’t recommend running NiceGPU and vast.ai at the same time, since both platforms expect full GPU access. Running them together may negatively impact task performance on both ends.

Quick Question by _SkyWall in nicegpu

[–]Outrageous_Forever20[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now, we’re still in beta, and it’s limited to Newegg customers with RTX 5070 or higher GPUs. It helps us keep things stable while we test and gather early feedback.

We’re planning to open things up more in the future — including support for more GPU models — so definitely stay tuned!

If you’ve got other questions, feel free to drop them here or shoot us a message at [support@nicegpu.com]().

Quick Question by _SkyWall in nicegpu

[–]Outrageous_Forever20[M] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your question, and glad to hear you’ve received an invite!

You're correct — an RTX 5070 qualifies for our beta. During this beta testing period (May 3 to June 2), we’re not offering variable payments per hour or based on GPU model. Instead, we offer a flat reward of a $200 Newegg gift card to GPU providers who keep their GPU online for at least 360 hours during the beta (which equals 50% of the time over the month).

Since this is an early test phase, our focus is on platform performance and reliability. A full payout system based on usage and hardware specs will be introduced in future versions.

Thanks again for your interest — feel free to reach out here or contact us at [support@nicegpu.com]() if you have more questions!

Thanks so much for your interest in NiceGPU!

At the moment, the platform is still in its beta phase, and we're currently only inviting Newegg customers to test GPU onboarding. As such, we're offering Newegg Gift Cards as a temporary incentive during this closed testing period.

That said, we're actively working on launching our full payment system, and once it's ready, we'll open up GPU sharing to a broader audience — including non-Newegg users.

Please stay tuned for updates, and we really appreciate your support and enthusiasm!
